Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain tours

I joined this tour hoping to experience it during my stay in Cusco. I was picked up around 4 AM near my hotel, and the tour ended around 3 PM. The guide provided explanations in both Spanish and English. At the site, I paid about 70 Soles each way to ride a horse or motorcycle to near the summit. I was told it would take about 1 hour and 20 minutes to walk slowly, but since I felt motion sickness from the bumpy mountain road during the drive from Cusco to the trailhead, I chose the motorcycle up. I walked back down, which I think took less than an hour. Some of the tour participants experienced altitude sickness and seemed to be struggling, and another person vomited on the way back in the car. To be honest, the 4-hour drive each way isn't on smooth roads like in Japan, so I can't pretend it was perfectly fine. The tour itself was reasonably priced and the guide was good, but you should seriously consider whether you want to go there or not.

one of my favourite part of this trip in Peru. The tour was organised and waking up early was all worth it. We arrived in Vinicunca Mountain earIy which means less crowd. ATV ride was fun too. On top of that, I was surprised thay the tour included buffet breakfast and lunch. Money we'll spent on this trip.

Very good guide Antonio and professional driver. Antonio encouraged us during the climb up the mountain and helped us cope with altitude sickness. I recommend this tour!

The cold and altitude sickness were tough, but it was really beautiful. Not only the Rainbow Mountain that you often see on social media, but the scenery during the climb was also spectacular. Breakfast and lunch were buffet style, so for this price, that alone was enough to satisfy you. The cost performance was quite good.

A full-day trip, including transportation, breakfast, lunch and Rainbow Mountain tickets, costs less than NT$1,000. Although the one-way journey takes nearly 4 hours, it is still a great value! Rainbow Mountain is 5,000 meters above sea level, and the bus stops at 4,600 meters. Passengers can choose to walk up there for about 45-60 minutes, or take an off-road vehicle or ride a horse at their own expense! I was lazy and chose to ride a horse up the mountain, but in the last 20 minutes I still had to walk up there by myself. If I hadn’t been short on cash, I would have chosen to ride a horse both up and down the mountain😅

trip from cusco to rainbow mountain is quite bumpy, but it's breathtaking spot to go. and the guide is friendly and bilingual. overall, it's a awesome experience

Well plan tour. Our guide Edwin is a great tour guide that provided all the required information about rainbow mountain and assistance during the tour. I would recommend taking the emergency horse that cost 80 PEN one way to the base of rainbow mountain. It helps to preserve the energy for an @ 45mins climb up the top. Even though the distance to the top appeared quite short, but the thin air in the high altitude environment, making necessary to stop regularly to catch your breath. The experience is definitely worth it. Breakfast was good but lunch was a bit disappointing, edible but not appertising.

The meal was quite unappetizing, but the tour guide was excellent, and the pickup was incredibly punctual. Although I ultimately chose to take a motorcycle up the mountain and didn't have much time with the guide, at least he explained everything very clearly.
