Salvatore is the best, and so is driver Tony. They did a superb job. The itinerary was well-planned, and the tour guide and leader were excellent. It was a pleasant trip. It was truly great that we had a private boat for our group, with no other people joining us!

The tour guide was friendly and spoke English, Spanish, and Italian. The travel time was a bit long, but that's understandable given the distance from the city center.

The scenery was beautiful and the tour guide's explanations were clear. However, it would have been even better if the tour guide spoke Chinese. It's a shame there wasn't enough time, but it's definitely worth going.

Had a great tour with Sonia as our guide. Though the tour is pricey compared to going ourselves, it saves us on the logistics. The exclusive boat tour was nice.

I had a great time on this trip and would definitely recommend it! The day started near Milano Centrale, where we met our group. A lovely surprise was when our driver, Alfonso, gave a rose to all the women on the tour♡ a wonderful way to start the day. Our first stop was Como, which was beautiful, followed by Bellagio, my favorite destination. I only wish we had more time there. Our guide, Sonia, was fantastic and gave great recommendations at every stop, from places to see to cafés, pastry shops, and local treats. The boat ride on Lake Como was another highlight, with stunning views of the lake and famous villas while Sonia shared interesting information along the way. We ended the day in Lugano, Switzerland, which felt like a hidden gem. The scenery was beautiful, the atmosphere was relaxed, and it felt less crowded than other destinations. Overall, it was a well-organized tour with amazing views, great guidance, and memorable experiences.

Nice trip. Lake Como is so nice and Lugano is also good. Bellaggio is so crowded though. Overall a very enjoyable day.

I wanted to have Lake cruise and like be near the lake for which I took this trip. And our guide Mateo as well as our driver Tony were both superb. Mateo gave a lot of guidance and details about Como, Bellagio and Lugano. And Tony would help us across the streets from the bus in case of constant traffic due to single lanes. The lake trip was very calming and relaxing. Even if the trip was full day for me it wasn't tiring as in this one, I didn't walk a lot in my free time, but rather just sat near the lake sides.

Things to do around Lake Como in Lombardy, Italy

Take a Boat Tour

To explore Lake Como, going by boat is one of the best ways to see its beauty! You can ride a public ferry or book a private tour to visit charming towns along the shore. The water is surrounded by green hills, colorful villas, and snow-capped mountains in the distance. Some tours even stop at famous spots like Villa del Balbianello.

Walk the Streets of Bellagio

Known as the "Pearl of Lake Como," Bellagio is a town you won't want to miss! Check out the narrow cobblestone streets, browse stylish boutiques, and enjoy a cappuccino at a lakeside café. The town is also famous for its gardens, like those at Villa Melzi.

Explore Varenna

If you're going to Lake Como with your special someone, then Varenna should be part of your itinerary. This romantic fishing village on the eastern shore of the lake is filled with colorful houses, a scenic waterfront, and a peaceful atmosphere. Walk along the "Lover's Walk" for incredible lake views, then visit the botanical gardens at Villa Monastero.

For a bit of adventure, explore the nearby hiking trails that lead to stunning viewpoints and hidden corners of the village.

Tour Villa Balbianello

Villa Balbianello is one of Lake Como's most famous landmarks. This elegant villa has appeared in movies like James Bond: Casino Royale and Star Wars. Surrounded by terraced gardens, it gives you a great view of the lake.

Admire the botanical garden in Villa Carlotta

Your trip to Lake Como isn't complete without exploring Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo. This 17th-century villa is famous for its beautiful botanical gardens, bursting with colorful flowers and exotic plants. Inside, you'll find impressive art collections and elegant rooms that feel like stepping back in time. The gardens slope gently down to the water, giving you postcard-perfect lake views.

Visit Villa Olmo

Villa Olmo is one of the most famous landmarks on Lake Como's shoreline. Built in the 18th century, this grand neoclassical villa is surrounded by trimmed gardens that open right onto the lake. Inside, you'll find ornate halls and ceilings that show off centuries of history.

Ride the Funicular to Brunate

For one of the best views of Lake Como, take the funicular from Como town up to Brunate. The 7-minute ride is scenic in itself, and once you reach the top, you'll have panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. On clear days, you can even see all the way to Milan!

Relax at Menaggio

Menaggio is a charming resort town on the western shore of Lake Como. It's a great base for exploring the area, with beautiful promenades, lively piazzas, and easy ferry connections. You can relax at the beach, rent a bike, or enjoy a gelato while people-watching.

Check out Como Town

Como Town is the largest town on Lake Como, where you can visit the grand Como Cathedral, shop in local boutiques, and enjoy the piazza. The waterfront promenade is perfect if you enjoy afternoon walks, paired with great views of the lake. You'll also find museums and historic villas to explore.
