Lion Grove Garden tours

Tour is mainly by bus with a pack and tight itinerary and expecting plenty of walk to cover the venue. Chinese Speaking guide is good and very accommodating. Kudos to the guide 忆芬芳. Each venue will have different people joining so expect varied tour group.

We’re group of Malaysian, opted to join Chinese group. Our guide Ms Xiao Zhu was very attentive and friendly to us due to language barrier. She made sure we get all the information needed and made sure we are all welcomed into the group. Chill itinerary yet very informative and punctual. We’re given times to explore on our own and shopping too. The explanation is very clear even using the audio translator through our phone. Highly recommend this package for local people and those from non Chinese speaking region, it’s an experience. It’s up to u to enjoy it. Big thanks from us. 🫶🏻

Guide is Zhu Ping, a local Suzhou resident. Very knowledgeable of Suzhou. Avery bubbly guide who is always with a smile. the tour is abit rush but that I guessed is the pace for 1 day tour in Suzhou. Overall, a good tour.

The tour guide is helpful but her explanation to the various attraction seem to be on a "repeated mode" and she speaks too fast. For the lunch, though is non-inclusive, I was informed during the tour that I needed to pay extra for a group lunch due to time constraint (30mins). I am not sure if it is okay for guest to opt-out of the "optional" lunch. Do also note that need to pay extra for the tram ride up the Tiger Hill. For us, we were bored towards the end of the tour, as the explanation was too rush and the guide is trying to finish up all 5 attractions. if you wish to visit as much of attraction within a day, do consider. But I hope the tour agency can take into consideration for the guide to slow down the talking speed (we were the only foreigner in the group, the others are their domestic tourist).

The tour need to walk a lot, the bus will drop you very far away from the tourist spot. You will need to pay additional RMB 40 for a buffet lunch (not worth it), RMB 10 for a speaker and RMB 40 for a boat. So need to prepare at least RMB 90 per pax during the trip and very tired of walking. If you depart from Shanghai, you need to take high speed rail yourself from shanghai station to suzhou. If child is under 6, they wont book a place for the child, which not gurantee per pax per seat. If child want to have own seat, one of adult need to stand there. Overall, not worth for the value with this price.

This tour package was very good value for the money. It included visits to many attractions, and we would like to especially appreciate our tour guide, Mr. Yufang Ding, for his excellent service. He is a Chinese tour guide who can communicate in English, which made it easy for us to join the tour with Chinese tourists smoothly. Mr. Yufang took great care of all the guests and was always punctual. Moreover, he kindly helped us arrange transportation all the way to our hotel. pretty good itinerary to Suzhou, they will book a high speed train for you if you’re travelling from shanghai. I didn’t enjoy the gardens that much, but depends on your preferences. it’s too crowded. the zhouzhuang water town is pretty nice.

I was very fortunate to meet Pan Chunli, a tour guide who was not only knowledgeable but also humorous. From pre-trip communication and transportation to the thoughtful itinerary and detailed introduction of cultural landscapes, architectural features, and historical stories, I gained so much and created wonderful memories of this trip! The tour guide in Shanghai was also attentive and answered all questions. I would definitely join this kind of trip again if I have the chance! I was also able to stay in a hotel with a great value for the price.
