Saw a TikTok about this place and became super hyperfixated that I NEEDED to go here no matter what. Taking this tour was a great choice as it allowed for an easy transfer to and from Kamikochi. The first stop at Taisho Ike Pond was breathtaking which got me excited for the rest of the walk. the greenery of the forest in mid June was a sight to behold along with the Japanese Apls in the distance. The trial was not super crowded until you reached Kappa Bridge. There is also an additional trail to Myojin Bridge and Myojin First Pond but only if you have an additional 2 hours to spare. I was taking my time on the first trail that couldn’t make it to the second but I would definitely come back to do it!!

Our tour guide, Lin Hu, was very kind and responsible, providing excellent service and detailed explanations. The weather was beautiful, the mountain town was charmingly old-fashioned, and Shirakawa-go felt like a paradise. The itinerary was well-planned with plenty of time. This was a wonderful experience.

Tour guide Kim's explanation was very interesting and engaging. I gained a deeper understanding of the history and stories of each place, adding color to the trip. Although the location is a bit remote, the scenery and experience are totally worth it! Visiting the Fox Shrine and miso factory is a must-do in a lifetime, and definitely worth the price! Moreover, it happened to be the autumn foliage season, and the weather and autumn leaves made the scenery even more beautiful and atmospheric!

This chartered car tour of Shirakawa-go was an amazing experience! Although there was no tour guide, we had a super awesome driver who shared information and gave introductions in Chinese. It was fantastic! 👏👏👏👏👏 Most importantly, we encountered the first snow of Shirakawa-go on December 3, 2025! So lucky! 👍

Very happy with this experience. I got a real sense of the authentic side of Japan and it was incredibly entertaining to learn so much about Nagoya castle and it’s legacy. My tour guide, Kim, was absolutely fantastic. She did a fantastic job of looking after me and explained background stories extremely well, especially the legacy of the Toyoda family in the Taisho-era. The locals are such kindhearted, wonderful people too. The walk around the Tokugawa-en garden was the cherry on top. I was lucky enough to experience this on a bright sunny day with the autumn leaves in full bloom. Very relaxing and such a peaceful experience. Over the moon with this experience. Definitely give this a try if you are in Nagoya and want to dive in into the history of this underrated city. P.s, give the matcha tea a try!

This was a fantastic show that I absolutely don't regret. The arena is located a 10-minute walk from the castle, so it's ideal to combine both. Have an early lunch, then stop at Lawson (on the right) for drinks and snacks on the way. Otherwise, you can get food there, but it's not as good and it's expensive. The guides will be waiting for you in front of the arena, at the entrance of the large university building. You'll receive your precious tickets (ouch, the face value stings a bit!), an English audio guide, a map of the venue, and the fight schedule. There are brief explanations at the beginning, but the guides remain available throughout the match to answer your questions and are very charming. We were seated in the last 5 rows of the stands, but you can see very well from everywhere. The 5 hours there flew by. My 12-year-old daughter loved the pre-show shopping, the shaved ice with syrup, the atmosphere in the venue, and following the fights by betting on each player.
