Things to do in Pier-2 Art Center

I'd like to clarify the schedule for other travelers, as the official website and brochure aren't very detailed. The 10:40 AM departure arrives at Hongmaogang at 11:20 AM. If you plan to have lunch at the revolving restaurant, you'll need to call ahead for a reservation. You can book for 11:30 AM, which also helps you avoid the hot sun. For the return trip, you need to gather at the Hongmaogang waiting room by 1:40 PM, and the return departure time is 1:50 PM. Most importantly, you will arrive back at the original departure point at 2:30 PM after a 40-minute boat ride (not 1:50 PM).

Did a same day booking because wasn't sure of my schedule - once paid, i was able to see the voucher and was able to get in immediately!

Since you can ride on the bike path rather than a scooter, this route is better if you're going to Bo'er. However, if you're traveling about 10 kilometers, the battery will only have about 30-40% left, so you should swap it out before entering Cijin Island.

The tour was great and it had let us visit the top Kaohsiung City attractions. It’s just that the very warm weather is the challengegoing from one place to another. It was very humid in the city which made the tour kinda’ difficult for us tourists because it somehow spolied our excitement. Everyone is complaining on the hot weather but at the same time, we enjoyed taking pictires despite the hot weather. The warm weather was extreme especially during noontime till 4-5pm in the afternoon. There’s not much to see in the Arts Museum. The one that delighted us is the nearby train station. The pier has a lot of people too despite the extreme hot weather, which was our last stop of the day. The Tiger Dragon pagoda was one of the best, same with the Moon Landscape Park and the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum too! This tour is highly recommended especially for those who are first-time visitors in Kaohsiung.

stella was awesome and the time arrangement was perfect as i request to depart later because i just landed at kaohsiung airport and rushed to the spot immediately and she waited for me. she also actually defended us from a weird taiwan resident who seem to verbal abuse us as tourist as well

It was a very nice tour! Hassle free cause I get to go visit the all the recommended tourist spots. It was ver nice and fun! I enjoyed Stella’s company (our tour guide) she’s very nice to everyone and drives safely. Highly recommended this tour!

This was the highlight of our trip to Taiwan. Our tour guide Charlie reached out via WhatsApp two days before to confirm our trip. He arrived early the day of our trip. Charlie started our trip with local fruit He got for us before he arrived. Then took us for a local boba. Charlie went above and beyond and made the tour that much more special. He is very knowledgeable and proudly tells you about every place on the itinerary. He speaks English and Chinese very well. I plan on recommending Charlie to everyone I know taking a trip to Southern Taiwan. Overall it was a great and memorable experience. Thank you Charlie for everything!

We had a wonderful tour in Kaohsiung with Charlie! Our guide Charlie was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly and in an interesting way. He also took so many great photos of us throughout the day, which we really appreciated. 😊 He was always attentive and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying the tour. He took care of us really well👍 we were able to learn a lot about Taiwan and Kaohsiung while having a really fun and relaxing day. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Taiwan. Highly recommend this museum for just about anyone. Great price for adults and free for seniors (65+) and elementary school kids. There are six floors of interactive exhibits for all ages AND virtually all of them are also in English. The IMAX film (~17 minutes) was also great! I went on a Tuesday with half of the elementary schools in the city so just a heads up as there were kids everywhere (loud and running around). Eat before or after as not many options and not good. Could easily spend all day there. Water refills stations and bathrooms throughout and exhibits were well done.
