Things to do in Pompei

This was one of the best tours I have been on and so comprehensive learning about what led up to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, and how it affected both Herculaneum and Pompeii. Our guide, Fredo, was excellent. He answered all of our questions and was so knowledgeable about the area and how the eruption solidified these two towns in time. He was great at explaining the similarities and differences of both the towns back in 79 A.D. and the ruins/excavation/preservation of both sites to this day. Fredo also pointed out all of the best aspects of what is so significant about the ruins and highlighted the artistry of the architecture and art throughout the city in the various mosaic and frescoes. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone interested in learning about the history of these two towns. Just make sure to bring water and things to cover up (sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, etc.) as the day we went was sunny and hot.

The dates we chose for our trip unfortunately coincided with a cycling event in Italy, which prevented us from visiting downtown Naples. We received a notification email three days before our trip, which also mentioned the option to change our dates. At the time, we thought we could still visit Pompeii, so we didn't reply. However, the staff member even called us specifically to follow up, and we are truly grateful for their diligence and responsibility. We initially thought everyone had received advance notice, but upon gathering on the day of the tour, we discovered that many participants who booked through other platforms had not been informed and only learned from the guide on the day of check-in that they couldn't go to Naples. We were really glad we booked our tour through Klook. Our Italian guide was very professional and passionate about the region, providing us with fluent English and Spanish commentary on the unique scenery, famous attractions, and historical stories along the way. They also offered many suggestions for visiting Pompeii to those who didn't participate in the group tour and provided practical information for our dessert time in modern Pompeii, which was very enriching! The Amalfi Coast is one of the world's most beautiful cliffside colorful towns, while Pompeii is a 2,000-year-old Roman city preserved in volcanic ash. These two prime attractions are perfect for combining into a layered journey through Southern Italy. The careful arrangements by tour leader Macro, the superb driving skills of driver Rosario on the winding mountain roads, and the detailed explanations by Pompeii guide Elia brought this trip to a perfect close!

it’s really value of the money. Good is they take you to the place and give you enough time to enjoy and walk in different area. shame I was booked it too late so can’t join others pack but it’s also good for it.

Angie and Josephine were organized and tried their hardest to keep the group together. We really appreciated their effort and the Pompei ruins were so interesting! The lunch before the Vesuvius hike was a thoughtful touch. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, the trek to the crater is quite challenging.

Thanks to our tour guide Michela, Pompeii guide Lily, and the Vesuvius guide (apologies, I don't remember his name) for their thoughtful and comprehensive introductions. Michela kindly led us throughout the day, Lily's detailed knowledge of Pompeii was impressive, and the Vesuvius guide's understanding of the volcano clearly showed his passion for nature. I distinctly remember after leaving Pompeii, our guide Michela quoted a line from the Bible's Ecclesiastes: "There is nothing new under the sun." This allowed us to imagine the lives of people 2,000 years ago through the ancient ruins and mountainous terrain! Due to the system's 3MB photo upload limit, I couldn't provide many of my good photos. I hope the system can improve this aspect.

The audio guide announced by the bus driver where you get off the bus is a private one! Do not go there~~ Once you buy your ticket and go inside, there is an official audio guide information desk! (Korean available) At the private audio guide rental shop, even after I asked for Korean and they checked the Korean passport I had laid out, they made me pay first (20 euros for two). Only then did they say there was no Korean, that they thought it was English because I spoke in English, that it couldn't be canceled because I paid by card, and offered a book instead. With no other choice, I accepted the English one, and when I rented the official audio guide inside, it was 14 euros for two. Although the pronunciation is a bit awkward, the Korean explanation is well done. Based on a cruise shore excursion, getting off, walking to find the bus stop, taking the bus, and making the round trip was not difficult.

It was nice trip with Vincenzo. There were many walking but He always make us stay in shade. He was very kind, well know about our tour subject and fun. He said his Engnlish is poor but everyone in our group feels he is fluent English speaker.
