Ruisui

The best time to visit Ruisui Township is from October to April, when temperatures are mild and hot spring stays are especially enjoyable. Summer is suitable for river activities, but visitors should check weather and typhoon updates before rafting or driving through mountain and valley roads.

Take a TRA train to Ruisui Station on the Hualien-Taitung line, with connections from Hualien City, Taitung, Taipei, and other major stations. Self-driving is also popular along Provincial Highway 9 through the East Rift Valley.

Use taxis, rental scooters, bicycles, or hotel transfers for attractions outside the station area. The East Rift Valley is spread out, so self-driving or prearranged transport is the most convenient option for hot springs, farms, and river activities.

Stay near Ruisui Hot Spring for spa resorts and quiet countryside stays, or near Ruisui Station for easier train access and basic dining. Travelers on a road trip can also stay in nearby Yuli or Guangfu if they want to cover more of the East Rift Valley.
