Caramoan

The dry season from November to May is the best time, when seas are calm and weather is ideal for island hopping and water activities. Peak months are December to April. Avoid June to October, when the southwest monsoon brings rough seas that can make island hopping unsafe or impossible.

Fly from Manila to Naga Airport (WNP) with Philippine Airlines or Cebu Pacific (about 1 hour), then take a van or bus to Sabang Port in San Jose (about 1.5-2 hours), followed by a passenger boat to Guijalo Port in Caramoan (about 1.5-2 hours). Buses from Manila to Naga take around 8-9 hours as an alternative.

Island hopping is arranged through the Tourism Desk at Paniman Beach, where you pay a regulated boat hire rate and select from short or long tour routes. Tricycles are the main form of transport within Caramoan town. For travel between town and Paniman Beach (island-hopping jump-off point), hire a tricycle or habal-habal (motorcycle taxi).

Caramoan Town: Budget inns and guesthouses like Rex Tourist Inn and Villa Juliana Inn are convenient for restaurants and transport. Most travellers use the town as their base. Paniman Beach Area: Staying near the island-hopping jump-off point saves travel time each morning. A few beach guesthouses operate here. Gota Village Resort: The most upscale option, situated on its own private beach with comfortable air-conditioned rooms, ideal for resort-level comfort in a remote setting.
