Oslob Whale Shark Watching Experience in Cebu

We had an amazing whale shark watching experience in Oslob with my dad. We’re visiting from Canada and this trip meant a lot to us. Our guide Belle was amazing, very professional, organized, and kind throughout the day. My dad is 55 and had injured his ankle earlier in the trip, but the team was very patient and accommodating so he could still enjoy everything. We also stopped at Tumalog Falls and riding motorcycles to the falls and back was so fun. We had such a great time and made wonderful memories together. Highly recommend this tour.

Great logistics arrangements. Driver Paul was on time to pick us up from hotel at 3am and drove safely to Oslob taking only a 10-minute break during the 3 hour drive from Mactan Island to the whale shark watching site. Our tour guide Maxine was cheerful, helpful and took great photos for us. Swimming with whale sharks was a great experience. We felt safe and well taken care of all the way. After getting back on the beach Paul and Maxine took us to a nearby restaurant with shower facilities (think big pail of running tap water with a scoop). Got to do a quick shower before change into clean clothes before setting on our return to Mactan Island Cebu. We didn’t opt for Tumalog Falls. Thank you for great service!

Even though I don't speak English, the local driver contacted me via KakaoTalk, which helped overcome any communication barriers with Kakao translation. We booked for 11 family members, but 2 couldn't make it due to their condition on the day, but the 9 of us had a great day. Actually, I'm the only one in my family who has been on the whale shark tour three times, and I've usually paid over ₩100,000 per person, so I was a little nervous about the low price, but that nervousness didn't last long. It included a rental car + driver + the costs for the local whale shark tour + a local helper exclusively for our family + Tumalog Falls viewing + drop-off at the desired accommodation. There's no Korean guide, but they were very kind and responded using easy English words, as if they had dealt with many Koreans who don't speak English like me, so even though I don't speak English, I was able to do everything I wanted, stop by the market to buy groceries before going to the accommodation, and return safely. Actually, I also got a quote from a Korean travel agency, but I went for 30% of the cost.

Awesome day-trip from Cebu-city. Traveled solo so was able to have a shorter wait for shark watching. Otherwise prepare for a 3-4hr wait. Be sure to have breakfast (or pack plenty of snacks) as they didn’t really stop on the way there. Waterfall was also definitely worth it.

Had a fantastic time as a solo female traveler! Booked 12h before pick up so had to email Island Trek Tours to get driver details but other than that, it was a very comfortable solo trip adventure. There isn’t that much food options there though so pack your own snacks. Whales were so close to shore it was surreal and saw so many of them, amazing sight! Snorkel mask provided on board. Drive there from Cebu City was 3h but didn’t feel like it because it was so scenic. Tumalog Falls was beautiful too, floor was rocky though (I walked around it barefoot but better with booties) Extra fees for me included: - 1800 PHP (gasoline) - ⁠550 PHP (GoPro) - ⁠100 PHP (snorkeling tube) - ⁠150 PHP (Tumalog falls entry and 1min motorbike ride down to the falls)

I have to say, travelling from Mactan to Oslob and back in one day was seriously tiring — but totally worth it. I’m staying in Mactan and our pickup was at 3am, so I basically knocked out in the car and only woke up when we arrived. There was a local guide to help us figure out the queue, and when we got there around 6:30am, the line was already stretching all the way to the roadside. The guide said it was peak season and there was a chance we might not even see the whale sharks if our number got called too late. So we decided to go for a dive with one of the nearby shops to skip the queue — and honestly, no regrets at all. By the time we finished diving, it was only 9:30am. We grabbed breakfast and left around 10am. The journey back took about 4 hours because of traffic. We reached the hotel around 2pm, managed to get some sleep, and felt recharged for the next day.

It was great experience from booking to pickup to the whale watching itself, our driver Kuya Joramie was very friendly and accomodating. he drove with utmost safety and care. ate Malyn who helped us during the whale watching was very kind to look after our stuff, ensure we get the queue and have an amazing experience. Kuya Joramie was very kind to do a stop over in Carcar for us to buy some lechon Cebu! awesome and flawless experience all in all.

This trip was great. They confirmed the pick-up time and location with us the day before. The vehicle was very large, and the four of us rode in a nine-seater, so there was plenty of space and it was very comfortable, allowing us to sleep all the way to our destination. We departed at 3:00 AM and arrived around 6:00 AM. After arriving, the guide took us to collect our number tags. While waiting, the guide first took us to play in the water at a nearby waterfall. After returning and waiting a bit, it was our turn to see the whale sharks! We were very lucky to see the whale sharks swim past us four or five times. The shock and excitement of this experience are truly unforgettable! Finally, after we got ashore and cleaned up, it was exactly 11:00 AM. The guide timed everything perfectly, and the end time was much earlier than we expected. Finally, on the way back, the driver took us to buy souvenirs and eat at a very delicious pork dish restaurant! This whole day's itinerary was really great, and the guide and driver were also very professional, giving us a very good experience. Experience: 👍👍👍

The car arrived early in the morning, ahead of schedule. After about a 4-hour drive, we reached Oslob! I bought breakfast the day before. Sunscreen is not allowed, so sun protection is a must. A GoPro is definitely a good idea to have. The main event, swimming with whale sharks, was an extraordinary experience. It's a little difficult to take pictures together because you float so easily, but the 20 minutes or so is plenty of time. Also, you have to walk down some rocks to get on the boat, so I recommend wearing marine shoes, which you can buy on Amazon for around $10.

This was an unforgettable and great experience. Our Driver Kuya Jan is good and on time. Also Ate Leigh our tour guide is also great and she also made sure our belongings are safe. we saw multiple whale sharks which is soooo fun!!! highly recommeneded!!!! thank you, klook ♥️
