My partner and I had an amazing experience at the cooking class. The tour at the market was great, good to learn more about local products and the products we will use later in the cooking class. Everything was organized great and it they made the classes very fun. In 2.5 hours we cooked chicken sate (with homemade saus!), mie goreng, chicken curry and tuna in banana leave. We learned how to make bamboe paste which is used in most dishes, and which was very enjoyable to do. Overall, it was even more fun than we expected!!!
We really enjoyed this activity. We went to the local market in Ubud the morning and got an understanding of the ingredients we were to use later that day. And also to realise how much we pay in Australia for Saffron compared to Bali. We then went to Ketut's for a very jovial and delicious cooking class to make and eat traditional dishes. What more could you want!
We had such an amazing time at Ketut’s cooking class in Ubud! It was a fun and immersive experience where we got to learn more about Indonesian cuisine—from ingredients to traditional cooking techniques. Everything was hands-on, engaging, and absolutely enjoyable. Plus, the food we made was delicious! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Ubud.

Our experience with Ketut’s Cooking Class was incredible from start to finish. The day began with a convenient villa pick-up, followed by an informative market tour where Ketut explained local ingredients and spices, giving us an authentic taste of Balinese culture. The cooking class itself was so much fun! Ketut's sense of humor kept everyone engaged, and his instructions were clear and easy to follow. Everything was well-organized, and Ketut, along with his wife and family, created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We learned to prepare a variety of delicious Balinese dishes, using fresh, traditional ingredients. The best part was sitting down to enjoy the amazing meal we cooked together—it was absolutely delicious! Ketut and his family provided a truly memorable experience that combined learning, laughter, and incredible food. I highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Bali—it’s a must-do!
Would definitely recommend! Such a great and unforgettable experience. The whole activity is run by Ketut and his family. Everything is so well organized from the hotel pick up to the market tour to the cooking class and back to our hotel. Plus everyone is super accommodating and nice! 💯
pick up and drop from our hotel was provided. the class in itself was great. We chose the morning slot and with it got to visit the traditional Balinese market. it was a great added bonus to the class. the instructions and instructors were very clear and fun to work with. kept encouraging us. they also gave good knowledge and background of Balinese heritage behind each dish. my fav was mei goreng and caramalised banana dessert! absolutely recommended to attend for anyone who wants to learn the basics of Balinese cuisine
I had a great time cooking then eating delicious traditional balinese dishes. Our chef, Made, was very cheerful and helped everyone when needed, giving explanations and a demonstration for every step of the way. Walking around the morning market was also very nice, with great explanations and some sample of local products.
We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking class with Ketut. He’s a funny lad! We took the morning class so we had the chance to go to the market to see the spices that will be used during the class. My boyfriend was amazed by this, as this was the first time seeing some spices in his life. The class was fun and insightful. At the end of it, we got to try everything we cooked. I think it’s better to skip breakfast to avoid filling up before enjoying your own masterpiece
