What to expect
On this private tour, step inside a rarely accessible townhouse designated as a Kyoto Tangible Cultural Property. Normally closed to the public, it opens exclusively for you with the guidance of an expert interpreter.
Built in 1926 by merchant Inoue Risuke IV, the residence blends East and West. The Western hall, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, was designed by Goichi Takeda, while the Japanese rooms and tea house were created by sukiya master Asajiro Uesaka.
