Review for: Japanese Sweets "Nerikiri" Making

This was our first class we have ever taken in Japan and for the price, it went way above our expectations. we spent an hour crafting these lovely and delicate traditional Japanese sweets and looked darling and tasted amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a cost effective cultural experience.

LOVED getting to learn how to make traditional Japenese sweets! Our instructor was awesome - very knowledgeable and talked with us about everything. He explained everything very well and it was super easy to follow along. The sweets were delicious! we took ours to go because it can be a lot to eat at once! Would recommend to anyone looking to try something different - or dive into another culture!

Making the nekiri sweets out of bean paste was a fun experience. It's almost like playing with play dough, and the instructions are simple enough that it's suitable for children to do. The instructor spoke both English and Japanese so it was easy to understand. you have a choice of eating your sweets at the class or taking them with you; I recommend getting the to go box and matcha add on because they're very sweet and you probably won't want to finish all of them at the class.

They explained everything carefully and showed us the whole picture, which was a very good experience and learning experience. My friend from overseas who joined us was also happy. She was also given explanations in English at the same time, which was very helpful. Everyone was very polite and I was very impressed. I highly recommend it!

It's not as easy as you might think. 🫣 A great workshop, well explained. Sometimes it moves a bit too quickly to the next step, but overall, you manage well within the hour.

The class was a big one, combined with a travel tour group. But it was well explained, and the atmosphere was great! The process broke down into reasonably small steps so that the kids can follow too, as long as they are paying attention to the instructor. We really enjoyed it, and if the class has fewer people, the instructor may be able to pay more attention to each student to help the little ones a bit more.
