Step into the world of sumo wrestling in lively Shinjuku, a bustling heart of Tokyo. Located not far from Ryōgoku, the historic center of sumo, this one-of-a-kind experience combines the sport’s ancient traditions with the welcoming spirit of contemporary Japanese culture.
Watch professional sumo wrestlers as they demonstrate the powerful techniques, sacred rituals, and raw intensity of this centuries-old sport. From the thunderous shiko (foot stomping) to ritual salt-throwing and thrilling live bouts, experience the full force of sumo’s proud heritage.
After the main event, the experience gets even more interactive. Enter a lottery for a chance to step into the ring to challenge the wrestlers yourself—an unforgettable moment filled with laughter, respect, and excitement.

- This is not a real tournament
- Please note that participation in the sumo challenge is limited to six guests per show. Participants are selected by lottery.
- Entry is only permitted through the front of the building facing the main door next to Daiso. Additionally, the show has to follow a time schedule; therefore, late entry may not be accepted by the front desk.
- This event is cashless. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Diners Club, and Discover are accepted

I booked this on a whim before I arrived in Tokyo and I’m so glad I did! it was not only incredibly educational and enriching, but so much fun. It was truly fascinating to learn about how these absolute forces of nature live and train, and to get to see them in action. It was even funnier getting to watch people try and take them on! If you’re in Tokyo, I would wholeheartedly recommend this experience!
fantastic show with the crew and especially Dai who was the host for the evening. the Sumo wrestlers Hiro and Kijo were also a lot of fun to watch and shared a lot of information on the world of Sumo.

Had a great time at the Sumo Club Shinjuku with Dai. It is great if you have kids! What we loved was that the show included alot of about Sumo with demonstrations given, but what we enjoyed most was the sense of humour - dont take anything too seriously. My son got to do the wrestling and it was a highlight!
For those who don't know about sumo and are interested in learning, this is an excellent opportunity. I really enjoyed Dai's explanation and narration of the sport, as well as the professionalism of the wrestlers who were willing to give demonstrations, wrestle, and answer questions.
We had the most amazing time! Very entertaining & we learnt a lot as well. Would highly recommend! The kids will be talking about this for a while! Thank you ☺️
It was a wonderful experience to learn about Sumo's life. The overall experience and interaction with Sumo was very nice. I was lucky enough to fight with the wrestlers and take a photograph with them.

Absolutely brilliant, a wonderful experience with a top-notch and very fun team. The challenges are well-explained with French instruction sheets.
