Asakusa Sumo Club Sumo Show Admission with Chankonabe in Tokyo

There aren’t enough words that can express how fun this experience was! My partner really wanted to go to a sumo “show”, but I feel like this was an elevated experience. Doors opened 15 minutes before showtime, which allowed us to choose our seats and settle in. Food was served quickly after being seated, and the process to order unlimited food was easy using their QR code system. Food was excellent and chosen as the primary way that sumos fuel their bodies for training. First drink was freee, but they charged for any drinks after that. The host spoke English and Japanese, and did a wonderful job of keeping the night flowing. The geisha performed beautifully, and then the sumo wrestlers kept the energy up all night! Audiebce members got to battle against the sumos (only 8 total), and the night ended with each group being able to take photos with the performers and a goody bag full of souvenirs to take home. Would easily book this experience each time we visit Japan!

It was my first time in Japan, and of course, I couldn’t leave without seeing sumo wrestlers. Unfortunately, I missed the official tournament and couldn’t get tickets, so I went for the Asakusa Sumo Club experience instead — and, it turned out to be one of the highlights of my Tokyo trip. The whole evening was so well put together. The setup, the dinner (unlimited food and drinks!), the souvenirs — everything was thoughtfully done. The wrestlers themselves were brilliant — super entertaining, full of personality, and clearly loved what they were doing. There was even a geisha performance mid-show, which added such a beautiful touch to the experience. By the end, they invited a few volunteers from the audience to “fight” the wrestlers, and it was hilarious to watch. It’s easy to find too, right in Asakusa beside Don Quijote. If you’re travelling with family, especially kids, this is an absolute must. You’ll learn a bit, laugh a lot, and leave with great memories (and a full stomach).

One of the best things we've booked on our trip! The start gives a brief intro to sumo so even people who have not seen any sumo will definitely be knowledgeable by the time the matches the start. Fun times and chanko all night. Need I say more?

The Sumo performance and Geisha style dance at the Asakusa Sumo Club, together with the all you can eat chicken chankonabe and various sides (that could be replenished via a very user friendly app.) were all very enjoyable. The mix of history and entertainment makes for a very enjoyable experience and the group photo keepsake was a great inclusion. Highly recommend going to this show.

Without a doubt a highlight of our trip for us adults and our kids was this experience. it was educational and entertaining from the second we entered the venue. We were upgraded to the best seats directly in front which was an added bonus to the incredible experience and we would highly recommend this experience to families!!

We had a fantastic evening at the Asakusa Sumo Club. We booked the all you can eat/drink package and service was fast. The show itself was very entertaining starting with Geisha dance performance followed by sumo matches and audience challenges. the show was compèred by an English speaking host. The wrestlers were great fun and really got the crowd going. Overall a great way to learn about sumo and the rituals.

Absolutely fantastic experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Tokyo! The show was fun, interactive and really informative, with a great introduction to the history and traditions of sumo. The compère was brilliant — he kept everyone engaged and made the audience participation so much fun. The whole team were incredibly friendly and helpful, and everything was so well organised and efficient from start to finish. The food was excellent too, with a really good vegetarian option. Great entertainment, great atmosphere and suitable for all ages. Would 100% recommend!

The show lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Upon arrival at the venue, present your reservation QR code, the name of the person who made the reservation, and the number of attendees to the front desk staff for registration. A staff member will escort you to your seats in the venue, and then a personal chicken hot pot dinner, including snacks, dessert, and a complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage, will be served. Additional food and drinks are available for purchase. The emcee, a foreigner, introduces the entire show's program and segments in English. The show begins with a Japanese female artist performing a Japanese dance. Subsequently, two sumo wrestlers are introduced by the emcee, and they demonstrate some basic sumo wrestling daily practice moves and skills, followed by three rounds of matches. Of course, the audience supports their chosen sumo wrestler by cheering them on. In the final segment, several audience members are invited to wear cute versions of sumo wrestler outfits and compete with the sumo wrestlers. The whole process brings the audience immense joy. The two sumo wrestlers are serious but also incorporate some funny actions, ensuring there are no dull moments. After the show, each participant can take a free printed group photo with the two sumo wrestlers, the emcee, and the female artist. Each participant also receives a souvenir, including a wooden sake cup, a photo, a towel, and a cloth bag. Although the sumo wrestlers weren't very fat and didn't have big bellies, and I'm not sure if it's very authentic, it's a very entertaining show.

Traveling to Japan every year, and this sumo experience was undoubtedly the highlight of the trip. The entire event was both educational and highly entertaining, full of humor and joy—it had the kids laughing from start to finish! 😂 The geisha performance was also fantastic. It’s wonderful to see such a well-preserved cultural tradition. Highly recommended! Can't go wrong with this.

This was amazing !! So much fun. They teach you the rules and go through everything that is involved in sumo wrestling. Great food, good laughs !! Even had the chance to wrestle a sumo wrestler myself. one of the highlights of the trip.
