Reviews
good transportation arrangement. friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. bad weather (raining - apparently been the annual weather for past years) but tour managed through it. an experience worth going to see the lanterns - only gripe is that it could have been made clearer that we were not going back to the bus before going to the event proper. this probably normally would not have been an issue but the rain complicated carrying our belongings and trying to keep them dry. but again the rain is something beyond anyone's control so cant fault Klook or the tour for this aspect so much. otherwise highly recommend as it's probably the most stress free way to go about attending this event. thank you klook and thank you for introducing us to Vincent as our tour guide who we hope to have again as a tour guide on our next visit
the tour was overall great. you have to queue up for an hour before the actual releasing of lantern but the experience was well worth it.
The most amazing tour there is. The tour is organized and our guide vincent is very attentive and enthusiastic. It is the kind of tour you should experience at least once in your life.
Due to the plum rain (梅雨) season, it rained the whole day during our tour (which is the norm for that season in Taiwan), but we still enjoyed the experience. Trix went the extra mile by making maps of his recommended spots in Jiufen, was a positive and engaging guide throughout, and always made sure that our group could find him easily. At the festival area, we had to wait in the rain for our turn, and umbrellas are not allowed, so bring some proper rain wear. However, when the moment came, watching everyone's lanterns float away into the sky was a truly beautiful sight. We would definitely recommend this tour to others looking to participate in the festival - it was very crowded and we had to walk a distance to reach the grounds, so having someone to make the arrangements and bring us there was much more convenient than going by ourselves. Good experience overall.
amazing experience!, viviene is very informative. the lanterns are so magical like a real life scene in the tangled movie. there's a lot of people but i think the organizers did a great job in handling the crowd

This was my first time joining a Jiufen tour with Klook, and the overall experience was very pleasant. Although I have been to Taiwan many times, I still had many new discoveries and feelings through this trip. The tour leader, Richard, was very professional and attentive throughout the trip. He explained the characteristics of each scenic spot clearly and understandably, and also shared the stories and cultural background behind them, allowing people to have a deeper understanding of Taiwan. In addition, he thoughtfully recommended must-try delicacies in the night market, so we didn’t have to worry about what to eat and could easily enjoy the local flavors. Even in familiar places, with a guide leading and explaining, you can re-experience them from a different perspective. Overall, I am very satisfied with Richard's professional attitude and the itinerary arranged by Klook this time. It was a relaxing and fulfilling trip.
My concerns are not Klook’s fault but the Festival’s organisers. The queues are messy, the place was quite disorganised. The weather made it a bit harder than it was supposed to be. On Klook’s part, our Tour Guide Kent was very hands on, checks everybody in the group, shares relevant and interesting information, very friendly, and made sure we were safe and still having fun despite the chaos of the festival organisation. The Klook package was definitely a good buy for this festival because doing this DIY would have been a nightmare. Overall experience is 8/10.
Our tour guide, Shelley, was amazing and impressive; she spoke not on Hokkien, but English and Japanese too! The itinerary was reasonably timed, punctual with the flexibility of being able to do things on your own while in the given location. We rode a double decker bus; it was spotless clean and cozy enough for a good nap. Highly recommended!
A once in a lifetime opportunity. If you have the chance, grab it with both hands. Kate Chen was our guide, you should ask for her. She was terrific. Kate treated everyone as if they were family.
