After arriving in Taiwan and leaving my luggage at the hotel, I went straight to the meeting place. I went to the circle where they were gathered and showed them my reservation information just in case. The friendly and active tour guide immediately found the list and greeted me. He speaks English and Japanese fluently, so he explained everything according to the nationality of the tour participants. I am Korean, but I asked him to speak in Japanese because I speak Japanese better than English. Most of the guests were Japanese. He spoke Japanese so wittily and humorously that I didn’t even realize how much time had passed on the bus and kept smiling the whole time. The map was so cute, and he said he made it himself. I saw everything he told me to see and ate everything I wanted to eat. It was a sunny summer day, so even though we left at 3:30, the weather was nice and the pictures turned out well. The sunset was really pretty in the afternoon. No matter where you take a picture in Jiufen, you can take perfect pictures. I was so happy to have taken a picture of my life. I went to the teahouse that required a reservation because he told me to just go that day, and I didn’t have to wait in line. The meeting place was explained very well as if it were to a child, and he took a commemorative photo with my son and spared no effort for the tourists every second and minute. Although there were a lot of people who had done the Yeolyudeng tour in the late afternoon, I didn't feel like I couldn't walk as much as I thought, but I heard that it was a bit empty last week because it was a holiday. The line at the top of the Agan Tarot Ball shop moved faster than I thought, so I was able to eat at a place with a good view. Ameicharu usually takes reservations when there are a lot of people, but after seeing the situation that day, he said it would probably be possible to get in without a reservation, so we went there and had tea and snacks. The server spoke Korean well and volunteered to take pictures, which was nice. The owner of the peanut ice cream shop was really proactive in taking pictures. Anyway, thanks to the guide's map that he made himself and the sufficient explanation, we had a great time sightseeing. Even though it was a half-day tour, on the way to Taipei Main Station, he dropped me off at Rahohe Street Market, and took advantage of the intermission to get off for about 10 minutes to tell me where the bathrooms and the subway station were, and he told me not to say goodbye because it would be sad, which was so lovely. We took pictures together and became Instagram friends. During the bus tour, he knew when I would get tired, so he gave me a break, and he went around to each of us to ask if we were uncomfortable or had any questions, and he told us about clean bathrooms everywhere, and recommended good supermarkets and massage places. He didn't force any recommendations, and we just laughed and listened while traveling. It was the most enjoyable time in Taiwan! There wasn't a single unpleasant experience because of the guide. If I come again, I really, really, really hope we can have a chance to tour together!
