Want a authentic Japanese cooking experience? Look no further. This Ramen and Gyoza cooking class is not only informative, it is a fun family activity. We learned how to make a very flavorful Miso ramen broth from scratch. It was interesting to see how to mix different miso to inhance the flavor. We also learned the proper technique to fold gyoza. I can tell you, it was an amusing part of the class as our first attempts of making gyoza was laughable. Edible, but nonetheless, hilarious. We are used to eating gyoza at restaurants in Oahu but never made it ourselves. Now we can! Lunch was delicious and our instructors were very knowledgeable and kind. Chef Kazu also instructed us on how to make matcha tea. It was my first time making matcha tea with a whisk. He pared our matcha tea with yummy manju. The sweetness of the manju is a perfect balance with the taste of the matcha. Many thanks to the gracious owner Shun, knowledgeable Chef Kazu, and sweet interpreter Hitomi. Many blessings to all of you and we will carry our wonderful time together in our hearts.
The cooking class was intimate, informative and a lot of fun. A Japanese chef with translator hosted us in their home.
What a fantastic experience! We got the opportunity to learn how to make authentic miso ramen and gyoza. Our host spoke excellent English. She and Chef were super friendly and easy to connect with. We didn’t expect this but at the end, we got to make matcha. Personally, I had only had it once but didn’t like it. This was good! We would absolutely take this class again.
Had a great time at our cooking class. Upon booking confirmation they send easy to follow directions to the meet up spot. The cooking class itself was fun. Both chef Kazu and Mariko were happy to answer all of our questions and made the recipes feel very accessible and achievable at home.
I highly recommend the cooking class. The atmosphere was very relaxed, and we had a great time chatting. Both the homemade broth and the gyoza were incredibly delicious. The small tea ceremony at the end was also very relaxing and lovely. All our questions were answered wonderfully, and we received many tips. Thank you very much for that.
