Things to do in Old Summer Palace Garden

This was quite a spectacular production! Food was not bad. First dish was pretty good in fact!

overall great n unique experience - with the food as well as the dance performance. the venue has a food museum too if u wishbto dive deep into the royal cuisine food. MUST TRY! Rmb to contact service provider 1 week before booked date to confirm tix booking. get the front row seat - u can take all the pics u wan without any obstruction. only downside is that u gotta balance eating n photo-taking at the same time - so may end up gobbling the food.

Definitely one of my favorite places I visited in Beijing. I entered through the west gate and no issues at all. Just scanned the QR code and got through. This area is also less crowded compared to other gates. You also get amazing photo spots right away as you enter

Easy entry by scanning passport, no queue. Do take note of the museum timing and other places that is included in the ticket. some places closes at 4pm while the whole area closed at 7pm. There will be people stalking outside the entrance to ask if you need a guide and this is paid separately. Overall, it is a pretty and a place filled with history. They sell snacks which you can only buy it from yiheyuan. Buy with discretion as it can be bulky, they sell in boxes for each flavors.

Everywhere is packed during the Spring Festival, and the travel experience isn't as good as usual, but the tour guide still did their best to explain things to us and avoided crowded places!

Very enjoyable experience! The dance performance was beautiful and well presented, and the food was delicious with a truly royal dining atmosphere. We really enjoyed the cultural show and the overall experience. The only improvement needed is the serving pace — the staff rushed to serve the next dishes and took away expensive dishes that we had not finished yet. It felt too fast, especially when we were trying to focus on watching and taking photos of the dance performance. Hope the team can allow guests more time to enjoy both the performance and the food properly. If we focus on watching the dancing show, the dining time should also be more relaxed. Overall, a very memorable and unique experience.

The Summer Palace was beautiful! Our tourguide Wendy was very fluent in English, and she was very friendly! A very sweet lady indeed. She has a lot of information to share about the Summer Palace, and she knows a lot of less crowded spots to take pictures. She can definitely set you up with a nice background. We highly recommend her, and don’t be shy to exchange your travel stories with her too!
