Tian Tan Buddha

The ideal time to visit Tian Tan Buddha is from October to March. During these cooler months, the weather is more pleasant, making it perfect for outdoor activities and exploring the area without the discomfort of summer heat and humidity.

You have several options to reach Tian Tan Buddha. You can take the MTR to Tung Chung Station and then hop on the New Lantao Bus 23 to Ngong Ping. Alternatively, you can take a ferry from Central to Mui Wo and then catch the NLB No. 2 bus. For a scenic experience, consider the 25-minute Ngong Ping 360 cable car ride.

Access to the exterior of Tian Tan Buddha is free. However, if you wish to go inside the Buddha, there is an admission fee. It's a good idea to bring some cash for the entrance fee and any purchases you might want to make at Ngong Ping Village.

Comfortable walking shoes are a must, especially if you plan to climb the 268 steps to the Big Buddha or hike around Lantau Peak. Also, bring water, sun protection, and a jacket as the weather can be cooler in the highlands.
