Fantastic 5.0
Chiang Mai's Elephant Poop Paper Park is so creative! You can personally turn elephant poop into eco-friendly paper, which is both amusing and environmentally conscious. After the introduction, you can also DIY various products like bookmarks, passport cases, and notebooks. The diverse range of products and choices makes it an excellent option for family activities. Upon entry, each family receives a different colored poop paper, clearly helping to divide you into groups, which is very professional. The staff are enthusiastic and professional, and you can even choose between two different languages for the introduction, catering to all tourists' needs. It's truly a lot of fun!

Fantastic 5.0
The top choice for getting close to elephants, and it's very close to the Old City! The driver was very friendly! We got to interact with the elephants, feed them sugarcane, walk with them, make medicinal balls to aid their digestion (banana, brown sugar, salt, tamarind, bitter melon root, rice bran powder), and bathe them in the river. The entire environment was wonderful; learning about elephants in nature was an amazing experience! The fee also helps support the elephant sanctuary, which makes it feel very worthwhile.

Fantastic 5.0
Chiang Rai was quite a distance, but we made it there and back safely. Our guide was excellent and fun, and took many photos for us. I don't think the Red Temple was originally on the itinerary, but it was included, and I'm glad we got to go as I really wanted to see it. We had to return to Bangkok that same day, so we arrived back in Chiang Mai later than scheduled. However, our guide dropped us off at a spot near the airport where it was easy to catch a GRAB, and we were able to board our flight without any issues. Since Chiang Rai is quite far, I highly recommend this tour!

spacious and chill. superb! love the view and the cooler air here 4pm ~29deg cel where the old city was 36 and felt like 38deg cel. it’s an hour car ride up so suggest that you give yourself 2hrs after onsen to chill and have a bite. the dessert provided was aroy mak mak! Food quality and care is 10/10. Private onsen was clean and zen. ~25deg at 6pm

Fantastic 5.0
I had an awesome experience visiting Maerim Elephant Home despite the rain. The elephants are so adorable and the whole staff were very accommodating. We were briefed first of everything about the elephants and we were given delicious food as part of our tour package. This is truly a must-try experience if you're visiting Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Fantastic 5.0
The tour guide was friendly and polite, fluent in both Mandarin and English. They provided detailed explanations of the history and background of the attractions. The driver drove smoothly and steadily. Friends traveling to Chiang Mai should definitely sign up for this activity to gain a deeper understanding of Northern Thai culture. The food quality was good, and most of our fellow travelers were from all over the world, so we all got along well. The best part was being able to admire the White Temple, Blue Temple, and the Long Neck Karen village. The villagers showcased traditional Northern Thai handicrafts, and the adorable smiles of the children in the village left a lasting impression on us.

Fantastic 5.0
As soon as I arrived at the entrance, a staff member greeted me and guided me throughout the park, even offering to take my picture. The entire park is very large, and the coffee I ordered was also excellent. I spent nearly 2.5 hours exploring on my own. The shuttle ropeway was incredibly exciting and fun. I highly, highly, highly recommend it!

It is a solid first jump for beginners , nothing too crazy. the view from above is cool. They don’t take a picture or anything so if you want a memory you have to go with someone or buy 500B package

What to know before visiting Mae Rim

Quick snapshot of Mae Rim and what to expect

Mae Rim’s busiest bookings are for outdoor and sports activities, with attraction passes and massages also popular — the city’s demand peaks in January and then eases for much of the year. Klook data shows a clear seasonal rhythm: strong interest around the peak month and quieter months in spring and late autumn.

Best times to visit based on demand and prices

According to Klook booking data, January is the peak month for demand while March tends to be the quietest. Prices drift low through the late summer months and reach a seasonal high in November; conversely, August typically shows the lowest prices compared with November’s peak. If you want lower prices and smaller crowds, consider visiting in August or the surrounding late-summer months; for peak-season atmosphere and the busiest outdoor offerings, aim for January. Note that demand and price don’t move in lockstep here — the most expensive month (November) isn’t the busiest, so you can find quieter peak-feel windows if you time it right.

Tips for travellers

Most experiences in Mae Rim can be booked at short notice: Klook data shows travellers usually book about three days ahead, with last-minute booking commonly possible one day out and planning typically starting around twelve days. That makes Mae Rim a good fit for spontaneous trips, but if you’re visiting in the busy month of January consider locking in key outdoor activities a bit earlier. Use Klook to compare options and secure the activities you want while keeping flexibility for the rest of your trip.
