Trang An Grottoes

Mua Caves (Hang Mua)

Visit the Mua Cave viewpoint early in the morning or at sunset for the best light and fewer crowds. You’ll climb nearly 500 steps to reach the top, where a great view of Tam Coc and the surrounding rice paddies awaits.

Bai Dinh Temple

Tips before visiting Ninh Binh

1. Visit during the dry season

The best weather in Ninh Binh is from November to April, when it’s cooler and the skies are clear. The rainy season can still be enjoyable, but bring a rain jacket for short tropical showers.

2. Book your boat tours early

Popular spots like Trang An and Tam Coc can get busy, especially during weekends or holidays. Arrive early in the morning to avoid long lines and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

3. Wear comfortable shoes

You’ll be walking or climbing steps at attractions like Mua Caves and Bai Dinh Temple. Bring lightweight shoes to explore easier and safer, especially on wet paths.

4. Stay overnight if you can

While a day trip is possible, spending a night lets you enjoy the quiet evenings and countryside views. You can book guesthouses that also offer free bikes to explore the surrounding area.

5. Bring cash and plan your route

Some smaller attractions and local taxis don’t accept cards. We suggest you carry some cash and use Google Maps to find your way around the main attractions.
