on time train, clean train station, comfortable AC coach. this is really a great choice for transfer between Hanoi and Ninh Binh. hassle free booking through Klook. happy that got to experience public train from another country
super easy to get through by showing the QR code. but honestly just show up at the airport and buy a ticket. it’s so much cheaper. on the app it’s about 250k but at the station it is only 90k.
Train was comfy, left on time. Easy to navigate through station. Guards assist in locating your carriage. Got to go through train street on departing Hanoi. Snacks offered for sale during the trip. Easy to book and last minute was possible with a quick follow up email to confirm booking
my first time traveling via train in Vietnam and it was a great experience. the station in Hanoi is small and it's pretty easy to find the gate. the seats were ok, pretty economical option to get around
I booked 18 hours before the train departed, but Klook didn't immediately confirm the order. I was a bit worried. Then, I asked the Klook admin. With excellent service, they upgraded our class from non-sleeping to sleeping class. Klook's service is really great.
Booking Process: Booking a seat is very easy, and the system issues tickets within 3 days. You can use the ticket directly at the train station. Coverage Area: Can be used immediately without reissuing a new ticket.
I find the train experience is not bad with decent seats & aircon working fine. You can buy foods on the train but not sure if can communicate well in English but you can also buy some stuff from convenience store at Ninh Binh station. There are two stops along the way from Ninh Binh to Hanoi, train was on time while whole journey duration took about 2.5 hour. If you already took car transport from Hanoi over to Ninh Binh, then I think the return trip is worth to take this train for a different experience.
On time. Clean & neat. The station easy to find and simple step. The train a lil bit old. Over all its a nice trip
Easy to use, punctual departures from both the origin and destination, comfortable and spacious seating with reclining options. I have a return trip booked as well.
I was relieved to find out I could book through Klook, as the official website only accepted credit cards linked to Vietnamese bank accounts. I was worried Hanoi Station would be large and confusing like Tokyo Station, but it's quite small, so there's no chance of getting lost. The electronic display boards are easy for foreigners to understand. Although it said check-in was required 30 minutes prior, there wasn't a formal check-in process; when the train arrived, I just showed my QR code at the gate, and it wasn't even scanned. For reserved seats, the seat numbers are on the back of the seats, making them hard to see. The soft seats were surprisingly old and not very clean. The restrooms are dirty, so it's best to use the facilities at the station before boarding. The onboard sales offer very local items, so for hygiene reasons, I recommend buying snacks from the station shop or takeout banh mi to bring with you. However, the Hanoi Station shop is expensive and not great, and the banh mi from the shop in front of the station isn't very tasty, so be aware. Ninh Binh Station felt quite deserted and a bit concerning, but a GRAB car arrived quickly after I booked one. There are no roaming taxis, so GRAB is essential in Ninh Binh. Taking the train one way allowed me to fully enjoy the Vietnamese scenery. I took a taxi for the return trip.
