Fantastic 5.0
Choosing this guide for my Machu Picchu trip was an excellent decision. First, the service provided was outstanding for the price, and I was amazed by the value for money. Lunch was provided on the first day and was delicious. The guide's explanations were also very thorough, allowing me to explore the ruins while deeply understanding the historical background, which was very satisfying in terms of knowledge. What was especially wonderful was that they took plenty of time to show me around until I was completely satisfied. There was no rushing like in a group tour, and I was able to enjoy the scenery to my heart's content. Also, they provided dedicated support throughout the tour, and I am truly grateful that they didn't show any displeasure when I left something behind and diligently helped me search for it. Even during the trek, they took many photos at scenic spots and livened up the atmosphere, so I felt ingenuity everywhere to make the walking time itself enjoyable. They were always there for me from beginning to end, and thanks to this guide, it was a wonderful trip that will remain a lifelong memory.

We contacted the travel agency via WhatsApp two days before our trip and received our train tickets and itinerary the day before departure. On the day of the trip, our guide arrived promptly at 3:30 AM at our hotel to pick us up and take us to the train station. Upon arriving in Aguas Calientes, the hostel receptionist was already waiting for us and led us to the hostel to rest. We then had free time to explore Aguas Calientes, have lunch, and buy souvenirs! The next morning, before dawn, the receptionist had already prepared a simple breakfast for us. Our guide, Stiven, arrived on time at the hostel to pick us and the other group members up. The bus ride up the mountain offered incredibly beautiful scenery! We were very lucky with the weather; the views were crystal clear as soon as we reached the top. Our guide, Stiven, was very knowledgeable, providing excellent explanations in both Spanish and English, and gave us ample time to take photos. The tour concluded at noon, leaving us a few hours to have lunch before returning to the hostel to collect our luggage and depart from Aguas Calientes. This tour offered excellent value for money and is highly recommended!

Fantastic 5.0
I highly recommend this itinerary. We visited two historical sites in two days and one night. The handicraft market itself was a bit like the stalls you see outside tourist attractions, but the transportation for the entire tour was very well arranged. Even though the train was significantly delayed, they patiently waited to take us home. We were able to enjoy every stop without worry. Thumbs up! However, I personally suggest allowing for some free time before and after the trip to rest, otherwise, the tight schedule and travel can be quite tiring!

What to know before visiting Machu Picchu

What to expect in Machupicchu

Machupicchu’s Klook bookings are dominated by tours and visits to parks and gardens, so most visitors book guided experiences and outdoor sightseeing. Demand varies through the year with clear high and low months, giving a predictable rhythm for planning activities.

Best times to visit and how prices move

Klook data show demand peaks in June and drops to its low point in December. Prices generally stay elevated through mid-year and into August, with the priciest month typically in August and an unusually low typical price seen in June of the following year. For lower prices and smaller crowds, aim for the trough month in December or other quieter months; for peak-season atmosphere choose June when demand is highest. Note that price and demand don’t move perfectly together here: the busiest month (June) is not the single priciest month (August), so you can experience lively crowds without necessarily paying the absolute peak price.

Tips for travellers

Most travellers book well in advance — Klook data show typical bookings are made around 25 days ahead, with many last-minute bookings possible about a week out and early planners booking closer to two months ahead. If you prefer flexibility you can still find options a few days before travel, but if you’re visiting in the busiest months it helps to plan earlier. Use Klook to compare tours and outdoor experiences and lock in the ones that fit your travel style.
