Kyoto: Privat teceremoni, kalligrafi og kimonooplevelse

This was the best cultural experience we had in Japan! 🇯🇵✨ We experienced many Japanese cultural activities during our trip, but this was definitely our favorite. ❤️ We especially loved that it was completely private. 🥰 It was just us, so we could relax, take our time, and ask as many questions as we wanted. Our host was incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. 🍵🇯🇵 We had tried another tea ceremony before, but it lasted only about 10 minutes and felt very rushed. This experience was completely different! Our host spent a full 90 minutes with us and truly cared about making it special. ❤️ We also loved trying Japanese calligraphy for the first time and learning how to write our names in Japanese. 🖌️✨ Choosing our favorite kimono was also so much fun! 👘 We had plenty of time to take photos and videos, which made the experience even more memorable. 📸🎥 It’s a wonderful way to experience authentic Japanese culture. ✨

It was much more that we expected! Hosts were very welcoming and nice and speak very good English. Good explanation of tea ceremony answered all our questions and machan tasted really good, also tha calligraphy part was nice and fun to do.

If I could give this experience 100 stars, I would. The hosts were absolutely fantastic. My wife and I were kindly and respectfully fitted into the Kimonos of our choice. They then taught us how to make ceremonial grade matcha and gave us a brief lesson on the history behind the tradition. It was informative, interactive and delicious! The calligraphy portion of the experience totally blew us away. I’d rather not spoil the whole experience, just know that this is such an elevated and intimate experience that you can’t miss it. Thank you to the hosts, I hope for only good fortune for the two of you!

We had such a wonderful private tea ceremony and calligraphy experience with Yu and Airi. They were incredibly welcoming and took the time to explain the history, traditions and meaning behind each part of the matcha ceremony, which made the whole experience feel much more special and authentic. The calligraphy was also great fun and very thoughtfully guided. Everything felt relaxed, personal and never rushed, and we came away feeling like we had genuinely learned something about Japanese culture rather than simply watching a demonstration. A really memorable experience in Kyoto and something we would absolutely recommend. Thank you, Yu and Airi!

A hidden gem for those looking to learn and experience some Japanese culture for the first time. Airi and Yu were friendly hosts who did a great job explaining and demonstrating a matcha tea ceremony and Japanese calligraphy. They also gave great food recommendations for the area!

Lovely experience! wonderful place, traditional, provided lots of explanation of the ceremony. we had lots of fun writing out. Ames in Japanese calligraphy, and the matcha was delightful!
