Fantastic 5.0
This was my first visit to Xpark Aquarium, and booking tickets through Klook was incredibly convenient. Not only was the purchase process simple, but the price was also better than buying at the venue. The e-ticket allowed for direct entry by scanning the QR code, which saved a lot of time. The aquarium's layout was very distinctive, with each exhibition area incorporating lighting and sound effects to create an immersive viewing experience. Popular exhibits like the penguins, jellyfish, and seals were all very captivating, and every corner offered great photo opportunities, making it perfect for couples, families, or friends. The environment inside was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly, making the visit very smooth. I recommend visiting on a weekday, as there are fewer crowds, allowing for a more relaxed appreciation of the various marine life. Overall, it was a highly recommended trip, and I would definitely purchase tickets through Klook again if I have the chance.

Fantastic 5.0
After more than 20 years, I visited Window on China Theme Park again, mainly because my girlfriend wanted to go. The park is actually quite small; you can see everything in an afternoon. The models seem quite old, but they are well-maintained. Some areas have become overgrown with weeds, but employees regularly clear and tidy them up, which I noticed. As for the rides, besides the 'Boomerang' (similar to Leofoo Village and Lihpao Land's 'Volcano Adventure' but much taller, which neither my girlfriend nor I dared to ride), the other attractions are mostly geared towards children. There's a kid-friendly version of 'The Plunge.' However, the 'Crazy UFO' ride made my head hurt so much I almost threw up. Regarding the architectural models, my girlfriend was quite impressed. They have the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the Presidential Office Building, and the Statue of Liberty. We also played a fortune-telling game and fed fish. Some areas clearly show that the facilities are very old, but fortunately, the restrooms are all clean and have been renovated. Overall, the trip was worthwhile. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, parking for scooters at Window on China is free! That's a huge plus – no parking fee for scooters. Window on China gets a thumbs up for that, and there are plenty of parking spaces. It's a decent place, but it's really more suitable for parents bringing their children, as the facilities inside are primarily designed for kids.

Fantastic 5.0
Our trip to Dongyanshan was a great experience. We bought e-tickets before heading out, and at the entrance, we just scanned the QR code for instant entry, which was convenient and saved time! As soon as we entered the park, we were surrounded by towering Japanese cedar forests. The air was incredibly fresh and full of phytoncides, making deep breaths feel wonderfully refreshing. Surprisingly, there were very few mosquitoes and other insects, making it a comfortable walk. However, we occasionally encountered bees patrolling nearby, but calmly avoiding them was sufficient. A key point to note is that the trails and wooden steps can become very slippery when it rains. We strongly recommend wearing non-slip shoes and bringing a hiking pole to ensure safety by walking slowly and carefully. Overall, it's highly recommended as a great place to get close to nature in northern Taiwan!

Lala Mountain is a great place to escape the summer heat in Taoyuan. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the park's giant cypress forest, where the gentle slopes of the trails make for an easy walk. As you hike, breathe in the phytoncides from the mountain, cleansing your mind and body, and experience the beauty of the magnificent natural surroundings! The park also features plants such as green maple, red maple, and beech, forming a highly representative forest ecosystem in the mid-altitude mountains of northern Taiwan. Every November and December, the green leaves turn from yellow to red, creating a uniquely romantic and poetic scene. The park is also an important habitat for wildlife such as the Taiwan blue magpie, yellow-bellied fantail, and Formosan serow.

Buying through Klook also included a complimentary taiyaki snack, which I thought was really delicious ❤️ The park is actually quite small, and you can finish walking around and taking photos in about half an hour. It's a great place to stop by for a break. The admission ticket can also be fully redeemed for souvenirs, which were packaged very nicely and tasted good too. There were also plenty of free samples. Overall, the experience was quite nice 🥰

It's a pineapple cake that you just mix, put in a mold, and bake. However, even mixing it required a bit of skill, and I enjoyed figuring out how to make it look nice when putting it into the mold. I also enjoyed talking with people from the same country.

The tickets were very easy to use, and the price was great. The overall quality of the environment was excellent, and the kids had a lot of fun. They even got to make their own colored pens, which was a fun activity. The DIY activities looked fantastic. It's definitely worth coming back again!

What to know before visiting Taoyuan

Top experiences and seasonal rhythm

Taoyuan is best known for family-friendly outdoor attractions: zoos and aquariums lead bookings, followed by playgrounds and theme parks, with parks, gardens and museums rounding out the list. Demand rises through spring and peaks in December, while late summer and September see noticeably lower activity.

Activities matched to different travellers

Families will gravitate to zoos & aquariums, playgrounds and theme parks — these offer hands-on, easy-to-share days out that suit kids and multi-age groups. Couples can enjoy quieter moments in parks & gardens and museums, where a relaxed pace and green space make for pleasant together time. Solo travellers and small groups will find playgrounds and museums flexible options, with playgrounds offering the widest range of price points and museums a more budget-friendly, mellow choice.

What travellers should book ahead

What travellers book ahead Most things in Taoyuan can be picked up at short notice, but the earliest planners typically book around three days ahead; this matters most in the peak month of December. If you’re visiting in December, secure popular zoo, aquarium or theme-park visits a few days early to avoid sold-out time slots.

How categories compare on price and fit

Parks & gardens are the easiest, most budget-friendly way into Taoyuan’s activities, offering low entry points for casual visitors. Theme parks sit at the premium end of the local spectrum and are the priciest on average, appealing to families chasing a big, curated entertainment experience. Playgrounds offer the widest range of options and prices, so they can suit tight budgets or fuller, more premium days out depending on the choice, while zoos & aquariums and museums sit between those poles as solid mid-range, family- and culture-friendly picks.
