Would have been given 5 stars if the breakfast was any good. Overall the hotel was very good and the housekeeping was immaculate.

The room was spacious, but the bathroom tiny. Very strange floorplan. Staff were helpful. Biggest drawback was that they have NO PARKING on property and you can rent a space from the next door lot or park five blocks away for a fee. This was not clearly stated via Expedia.

Very nice and big room. Very close to train station and very easy to commute to visit the attractions. The breakfast is very good. The hotel room is very clean and with enough supplies provided. I booked the nearest parking lot in one of commercial parking which is 2 min walking distance from hotel. Staff is cooperative and also come to know they provide shuttle service to Newark station ( I travelled by my car). Very nice place for visitor who want affordable stay and visit New York attractions.

The down side about this location was the parking space, that will be the only issue about this place which is not mention on there site. Hopefully, they would take care of the parking situation. Just a .3 mile walk to Journal Square PATH trains. Nice convenience store in Journal Square PATH station. About 15 minute train ride to Newark Penn and WTC. Building is old. Bathroom was extremely small but that can't be helped. Hot eggs and bacon for breakfast.

Good place

If you are looking for a hotel straight of the 70s and 80s, this is the hotel for you. If you are looking for an updated hotel with well prepared rooms, you might want to look elsewhere. First, if you are driving in, don't. There is no parking at the hotel. The closest garage is a few blocks away ($25/day, no in and out). The front desk was less than helpful in sharing this information until after I had spent 45 minutes driving around trying to find one. Second the room. We had a two queen bed room, which looked absolutely nothing like the picture in the website. What would normally be the living room had a queen bed, dresser, desk and two chairs in it. The other room had a queen bed, one small side table and no dresser. The kicker was that getting to the bathroom required going through rhe bedroom. The carpets were old and worn. The elevators are tiny. There was a funky smell that permeated the entire hotel. The only positive part of the stay was the breakfast. They had a decent selection of food and beverage.
