So this activity is three parts in total. The first one takes you to a temple, then there is a beautiful boat ride that takes you to a dam and finally the sake tasting and optional sale. For those arriving by car, there is parking near the south exit. Our guide Claudia was proactive, interative and cooperative and made this activity fun with information sharing, whenever we sought it. She speaks good english and knows Kyoto well. We did this activity with a 5 month old, so you know thats entirely possible should you choose. Baby prams can be stored near the boat boarding point and rest rooms are available one you reach the dam or at the sake museum. There is a great presentation at the Sake musuem on the brewing process and history. All in all, I would recommend this activity to anyone looking for some good time with family / friends, including infants. Thank you. (Date of activity : 05/05/2026)
Communication was fast and easy. Met at train station north exit and left promptly at 9am. First stop was a temple for some background and photo taking while we wait for our turn for the canal boat. Unfortunately it was the tail end of the sakura season so the canal didn't have much sakuras. Boat stop at location of 2 locks which had a small musem which was interesting to see how the locks work due to the different levels of the water bodies. Next was the sake museum which was good and they let u choose 3 sakes from 10 types to sample. Can buy bottles from the sake museum which had very good prices! Guide Marielle was very friendly. the actual agency was TripGuru, prob tie in with Klook
This was a lovely calm tour learning about the history of trade in the area as well as the history of sake brewing. David was so helpful in guiding us through and providibg some tips for where to eat afterwards.
En Taka va ser un guia molt informatiu amb un anglès excel·lent! Vam parar en temples, vam aprendre sobre la història del sake i vam fer un passeig en vaixell molt divertit pels canals de Kyoto, passant per sota dels cirerers en flor!
This is a fun experience, and I would recommend doing it as part of a Kyoto trip. Our guide Marcelo Moreno was great, showing us through a shrine and explaining details about the history. The boat ride was beautiful through the canal, and the sake tasting was amazing. There was something for everyone's tastes.
We enjoyed the tour with Claudia and got to see a different neighbourhood of Kyoto. Claudia was also incredibly helpful and generous with her recommendations of what to see and where to eat in Kyoto even before we did the tour with her!
We had an amazing private tour with our guide, Katsuhiko. We were a group of four and enjoyed a wonderful mix of activities — visiting the museum, tasting sake, taking a boat tour, and a walking tour. Katsuhiko was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and patient, answering all of our questions along the way. Everything was perfectly organized and exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this tour and Katsuhiko as a guide!
Очень интересная экскурсия, гид Дэвид был заботлив и внимателен, подробно показал и рассказал все локации на прекрасном английском. Группа небольшая, место встречи очень удобное
unfortunately the weather was not greatest, very HUMID. this trip said the guide would be wearing shirt and he wasn’t! the tour was scheduled for 9am and my husband and I were the only ones scheduled for that time slot. after showing us small Buddha temple etc he finished early and he tried to get us to get boat ride, but vendor would not allow before 10am, which was annoying! I felt bad for our tour guide who had to walk around in humidity and burn time, we then chose to wait at boat entrance - unfortunately the owners were all smoking and wind blew smoke our way! no AC just fans so I was quite disappointed with the lack of consideration! by the time we got in boat, weather was muggy. the ride was all in Japanese so we didn’t understand anything, again if your going to advertise here on Klook or other apps, bilingual. we also got bitten a lot by mosquitos due to river bank. I would NOT recommend this boat ride unless the weather was cooler. the SAKE museum and tasting was just OK.
Nice, three-part tour. Katz was an excellent guide. Sake tasting was the highlight, but also getting a look at Fushimi was good too
