Hotel Tou was such a beautiful hotel to stay in. The staff were amazing and helpful. The food was great. Location is kinda far from some of the main attractions in Kyoto however it’s about a 10 min walk to the closest subway station and 8 minutes walk from Kyoto Station. Overall loved our stay there and highly recommend utilizing the utilities such as the onsen if possible!

Great hotel and great value. Enjoyed the Japanese breakfast. Rooms are small but worked fine for one person. They provide great toiletries if you're running low. Basement also has laundry facility. If you have a lot to wash you will probably want to use the coin laundry down the street- the hotel has only 2 small machines. Would stay here again

The property was very stylish with helpful and attentive staff, renovated and new rooms with more amenities than I’ve ever seen. The one and only downside is that the rooms are small. However, the volume of amenities (toothbrushes, and toothpaste, pajamas, facial care, products, shaving care, products, face, masks, and so much more) was incredible and there was laundry in the basement as well as an onsen which I did not use, but saw other others using. The location was closer to Kyoto train station than it was most of the sightseeing areas of Kyoto, but this did not bother us at all as we were doing plenty of day trips. The area itself was quiet and clean and walking around was very pleasant. You shouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel.

Really lovely hotel, traditional feel to the bedrooms. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful throughout. Definitely recommended.

Terrible experience. My room smelled of cigarette smoke when I first checked in. I asked the staff to come with me to smell my room and have it corrected. She agreeded the room smelled of smoke and asked me to just open the window and continue my stay in the same room. I had a migrane the entire time.
