My 18yr old daughter and I decided to do this painting class together and I’m so glad we did! Location was easy to find - on the right side of the eMart24 is a door and it’s on the 2nd floor. The studio is bright and inviting. The teacher has many years of experience with Minhwa painting and was very patient, knowledgeable, and kind. She was also very flexible with changing our original choice of painting and gave us explanations of the symbolic meanings behind each original piece. We had about 2.5 hrs to finish our paintings which is the minimum I would allocate for this in order to best enjoy the experience. I had time to browse some of her paintings she had on display at the studio and was immediately drawn to two that I ended up taking home :) Out of all the things we did in the month we were in Korea, this was definitely one of our favorite memories!!

This was such a wonderful experience! the atmosphere was light and welcoming. Our session started off with background information about the art style and the materials used. As we were painting, the teacher was very helpful and gave clear instructions. She also chatted with us while we were painting or when we were waiting for our paint to dry. I would love to go back and painting again :)

I'll start with the negatives, which are the location. It's really far from downtown Seoul, and from our hotel (Myeongdong), it took over an hour to reach the park. Also, the show is entirely in Korean, and while a web app is provided for translation, it leaves a lot to be desired. Despite all of this, it still deserves 5 stars because seeing robots dance better than many humans is incredible. There are other related activities (for example, piloting a robot dog), a nice big park, and two refreshment points, especially the cafe where drinks are served by a robotic arm.
