Mutianyu Great Wall & Bird's Nest Day Tour by Bus with Transfer

This is an excellent tour and was very easy to follow. I had the hotel pickup where my tour guide Jessie organised the driver to pick me up straight from my hotel door, even though the Klook app couldn’t locate my hotel. The bus took me straight to the Mutianyu Great Wall where I got to choose which side of the wall to go up. I chose both so I did the East side chair lift straight up as soon as we arrived and then did the toboggan ride back down again. I then walked over to the West side Cable Car which took me up the Great Wall where I hiked to Hut 22 before coming back down. It’s very steep! This all took me about 4 and a half hours to do (10:30-2pm) as a decent hiker and I could have even stayed longer up the wall as the bus doesn’t leave until 3:30pm. Jessie was excellent to communicate with and was very quick to respond on both WhatsApp and WeChat throughout the entire booking. She knows the layout of the Wall and will help you decide which areas to walk to. Definitely recommend!

Everything was perfect. The day before, we received our departure time from our hotel. The morning of, we received a WeChat message with the license plate number of the taxi that would take us to the bus meeting point for everyone. Then, we departed by bus for the Great Wall site, which takes about 2 hours of driving. Upon arrival, the guide took us to the cable cars, and then we were free to visit the Wall for several hours. We went from Tower 14 to Tower 21, round trip, in 3 hours. Be aware that after Tower 19, it becomes very, very physically demanding, so remember to bring water, even though you can buy some at certain points during the visit. Afterward, we returned to the bus at a specific time, usually around 3 PM. Upon returning to Beijing, the bus dropped us all off at a subway station, and everyone went their separate ways. It was great, and visiting the Wall is magical. We highly recommend it.

I had Yang as a tour guide who was great. Although the pick up from hotel was a little chaotic as the driver and I couldn’t understand each other and I wasn’t sure if this was definitely the right pick-up, when I met Yang at the coach pick-up place, her English was clear and helpful. I had a lot of questions about lunch in the itinerary and whether the cable car is necessary etc which she was able to answer. I am a fast walker but Yang explained that the cable car still is required given the time limit - it was a hot day so very appreciated. My advice to anybody visiting who enjoys hiking and is speedy, it might be possible to walk up if you skip the lunch and are relatively fit. I sweat a lot but could’ve done it if I also hadn’t booked lunch. However I found Yang very responsive and fluent in English to every question I had and for the average person I definitely recommend taking the cable car. We have not yet been to the Bird’s Nest. Thank you.

I had an amazing experience visiting the Great Wall of China, all thanks to our fantastic tour guide, Susie. The entire tour was so well-organized—from being picked up at my hotel to getting dropped off after an unforgettable day. Honestly, I wouldn’t have been able to manage it all on my own. One of the highlights was getting to climb all the way to Tower 20 and ride the toboggan down—something that’s usually difficult when it’s crowded. Luckily, it wasn’t a holiday, so there were far fewer people, which made the experience even more special. Susie was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a hassle-free and memorable visit to the Great Wall!

Our guide Christina was excellent in terms of giving us tips for best locations to go to and how to manage our time. Christina is also very knowledgeable about the history of the Great Wall. Overall it was a great experience on a nice bright day.

Our tour guide, Jessie Yang, was very friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience, provided clear English explanations, and even asked a subway station officer to assist us with purchasing our tickets. The Mutianyu Great Wall and Summer Palace tour was enjoyable overall. However, hotel pick-up was not provided despite being paid for, and the drop-off at Olympic Subway Station was inconvenient and far from our hotel. A refund of RMB 20 per person was given. Including hotel pick-up and drop-off would greatly improve the tour.

Our trip to the Great Wall of China was breathtakingly beautiful and an absolute must for every visitor to China. Seeing this wonder of the world live, especially the West Route in Mutianyu, was simply impressive and offered a fantastic view. Our travel companion Jessie was great and very helpful. She personally accompanied us from the planning stage to the excursion, provided a lot of interesting information, and created a very pleasant atmosphere. We felt comfortable and well taken care of at all times. The organization was perfect and the start was very punctual. An all-around successful and unforgettable tour that we can absolutely recommend!

A Wonderful Day Trip to Mutianyu Great Wall and the Summer Palace Today, we visited the Mutianyu Great Wall, and our guide Jessie was extremely responsible. She shared a wealth of historical and cultural insights about the Great Wall, which enriched our experience a lot. We took the cable car to explore the Great Wall—there weren’t many crowds, the weather was pleasantly cool, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. In the afternoon, we headed to the Summer Palace. Its landscapes were incredibly beautiful, and again, Guide Jessie told us many fascinating stories, showing her great professionalism. We absolutely loved this trip and highly recommend it to everyone. If you come to China, don’t miss the chance to visit Mutianyu Great Wall and the Summer Palace. Additionally, our tour bus was very clean and smooth. It was an electric bus with no gasoline fumes at all, making the ride very comfortable.

Had an awesome tour to the Great Wall with guide Jessie. She took care of everything from hotel pickup to cable car tickets and lunch. She even gave us some great info on Beijing & the Great Wall on the way to Mutianyu. She was always available to answer questions and as an English speaker, I had no issues. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another tour through Jessie again.
