I highly recommend anyone who has time to incorporate this train ride in their Vietnam itinerary. It was my best train ride ever. The carriage is clean, seats are comfortable and it passes very scenic places and I caught sunset at its most beautiful setting. It was an excellent activity.
It was a memorable journey for me. The train left on time and provided us with a scenic view of the ocean and the mountains. We were blessed with good weather so we could enjoy the ocean view along the Hai Van pass to our hearts content. What was more exciting was the food and entertainment on the train. I couldn't help smiling all through the journey. It seems like most tourists come till Lang Co bay only for the sake of the Hai Van pass view as most of them go off at the station there and the train became almost empty. The train stops there for about 10-15 minutes allowing you to get out and take in the view. After that, you get to enjoy the mountains and the town views. The train arrived in Hue ahead of the schedule which was nice. Overall, it was a wonderful trip.
such a great experience. You have to come on time ao the train wont leave you behind. They are just going to check your qr code then everything is set. Btw,we had a stop over for about 10 mins i guess
What a beautiful train ride! The trip from Hue to Da Nang was so relaxing with incredible coastal and mountain views — especially the stretch over the Hai Van Pass. The seats were comfortable, and it was an easy way to travel between the two cities while enjoying the scenery. Highly recommend sitting on the left side for the best views!
If you want to experience the full romance of a local Vietnamese train (it's like a rural train), I recommend giving it a try. However, the train may be delayed, so it's best to plan your schedule so you're not rushing to your next activity (on the day we traveled, trains were delayed by an hour, one after the other, so we waited in the waiting room). We requested seats together through the Klook option, and although we were facing backwards and didn't have a sea view, we were able to see it well from the next seat.
I had a great, albeit delayed, 4-hour experience on the Reunification Express train from Da Nang to Hue, a trip I had always dreamed of taking. Price: Affordable. I simply showed the voucher to the station attendant. Seat Reservation: I wasn't able to select my seat, but I ended up with a great one on the bottom bunk of a four-berth cabin.
If you're traveling from Hoi An, we recommend reserving a seat on the left side of the train, as that will be the ocean view. Once on board, the conductor will come around to take reservations for the foot bath, which costs 800,000 VND, allowing you to enjoy your train journey while soaking your feet!
Easy to buy tickets, although we were concerned seats might not be together on train, but they were. We were given 2 diffeeent waiting room directions at Hue Train Station, luckily we ended up at the right one. The trip is very nice but extremely slow, we've done it one way from Da Nang to Hue in 2025 and we travelled the return route this year. We've decided we don't need to do it again, once was enough.
It was a day of good weather and the train ride was comfortable and the nice sea and forest scenery along the way.
Great train ride. nice staff. comfortable seat. Great view.
