The Fito Museum of Herbal Medicine is a really interesting experience and offers a fascinating look into the medicinal history of Vietnam, which is something I honestly knew very little about before visiting. The building itself is beautiful, filled with character, history, and traditional architecture that makes the whole experience feel immersive from the moment you walk in. The exhibits are thoughtfully presented, and the team there were friendly, informative, and happy to answer questions. Definitely worth visiting if you enjoy culture, history, or learning about traditional healing practices.
highly recommended visit for anyone interested in holistic medicine, TCM as it covers the history of Traditional Vietnamese medicine. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the gift shop has a nice array of teas, books and herbal remedies.
Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine is a unique cultural museum in Saigon showcasing the history of traditional Vietnamese medicine through ancient tools, herbal remedies and historical artifacts. Housed in a beautifully crafted wooden building, it offers a peaceful and authentic glimpse into Vietnam’s healing traditions and architecture.
Tickets bought on the road. This building was originally a pharmaceutical factory. Later, the pharmaceutical factory moved away and the current address was changed into a museum for people to visit. When you first go there, I will show you some historical videos introducing Vietnam’s ancient medicine, and inevitably introduce their pharmaceutical factories. After we are done, someone will take us to the elevator to the 4th floor. The tour guide will explain it a little bit in the elevator, and then explain it to us a little bit on the 4th floor. Then he will give us an English guide for us to read according to the number. Of course, if we have any questions, we can ask him on the spot. There was a German who went there at the same time as me. Not only did he ask him a lot of questions, he also asked me a lot of questions about Chinese medicine after he found out that I was Taiwanese. There are a lot of necessary utensils inside, including medicinal wine, cabinets for storing traditional Chinese medicine, and books. There are mainly doors and walls of some buildings inside. There is a super large Ganoderma lucidum on the second floor. It looks small from the outside, but I spent almost two hours slowly reading the recommendations. If you don’t know what to do in Ho Chi Minh, and those who are interested in medicinal materials, you can go and have a look. There are quite a few foreigners going there. Interestingly, I saw a prescription on the wall called "Qiyang Decoction". As the name suggests, it is for men to aphrodisiac. If you are interested, you can go there and have a look!
fito museum enlightened me on how traditional vietnamese medicine fluorished. during my short stroll there, i was exposed to its deep history. mine came with a very relaxing footbath. i also treated myself with some of their free tea which i also bought as a souvenir. they have diff elixirs at the souvenir shop too.. the experience was pleasant.
its fast and easy to book your ticket here on klook. the museum has 5 small levels with english translations and lots to see. I really enjoyed this visit = first time and it was one of the highlights for me as I learnt things that I never knew about. the displays were varied, interesting and gives you a good broad understanding and appreciation of how far, how long, how much Vietnamese medicine has progressed over the years, centuries. you will need about an hr, depending how fast you read and how many photos you take. i went in around 9am so it was quiet, no one else but me. toilets are clean too, bonus.
Especially suitable for people who like Chinese medicine (TCM); here are still preserved the instruments for preparing herbs/minerals/animals for medicine, herbal illustrations and huge Lingzhi (collection); the museum provides a very detailed tour, and the buildings are simple and simple with carved dragons and painted buildings. Pay attention to the decorations on the eaves and the plaques on the beams and pillars are very interesting. Worth a visit. They will not force sales, don't worry. There is a herbal foot spa in the package. People who don't like to use strangers to massage can consider this. Soak for 30 minutes to relax. Herbal foot spa. experience: 10/10; service: 10/10 facilities:10/10 ease of booking on Klook: 10/10 price:10/10
everything about the museum including the exhibits, architecture, shop, and english-speaking staff were outstanding! Just a little bit bothered by the many photoshoots going on as it did not allow us to see the exhibit rooms in the right order. There always seemed to be a photoshoot almost after every room we went into, it was a Sunday. But i do know its not the museum’s fault so I still give it a 5/5. FITO MUSEUM is really worth going to, especially if you enjoy art, artifacts, and traditional medicine.
