The Metropolitan Museum guided tour tickets sold by Klook are a scam! ! After I purchased it, I arrived on time on the same day, but there was no so-called tour group present! The staff at the MET service desk said: MET has always only accepted tickets ordered from the official website, and directly said "someone stolen money from you"; the KLOOK English customer service staff I contacted suggested that I purchase tickets on my own after understanding the situation! I request KLOOK to refund me the full amount and stop selling this kind of tickets to other customers, so that no one will be deceived and waste their money!
My tour guide, Alexander, from Russia was so nice. Although I came up late since the traffic in NYC was unpredictable that time, he really showed me some of the part of The Met which he did not show to the other people in the group. I had fun. Kudos to Alexander!
The tour is great, Alex is very professional to introduce us abt the history of MET and his recommendation of art.
The tour guide explained everything very clearly, mainly helping you understand the key points of each hall so you can return later to see the exhibits you're most interested in. Overall, it was all very impressive.
Good to know
- Please meet your guide 15 minutes before tour start time
- Your guide will depart on time and late-comers will not be able to catch up with the tour or gain entry to the museum
- With your entry ticket, you can also visit The Cloisters uptown on the same day.
- The Met has extended hours on Friday and Saturday evenings for a quieter, exclusive experience.
- Small Group Guided Tours & Private Tours have a maximum of 15 people per tour guide
- The pre-orientation experience option is shown as 2 hours long. It includes the 30-minute pre-orientation experience and then self-guided time in the Museum. You can off course spend longer than 90 minutes in the Museum if you want, but this is the minimum amount of time you should allow.
- Both Museum locations are closed on Wednesdays
- The Main Museum on 5th Ave. Is normally open: 10AM – 5PM Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 10AM – 9PM Friday and Saturday
- The Met Cloisters in uptown are normally open 10AM – 5PM
