Choosing Teacher Amori's class was the most special journey of our trip to Chiang Mai. We didn't choose a downtown class because we wanted a more complete and immersive experience, and Teacher Amori gave us even more than we had hoped for. The entire journey was divided into three parts: meditation, yoga, and the relationship between meditation and Buddhist practice. In the meditation section, Amori teaches you step-by-step how to feel your true self existing in the present moment. She then uses Buddhist study illustrations to explain the significance of meditation and discusses your feelings after the meditation. After concluding the meditation, she took us to another classroom for a very thorough and systematic yoga practice. The whole process was rigorous with no compromise at all. As a ballet teacher, while practicing these movements, I could still feel the profound meaning that Amori's thoughtful guidance brought to my body. Afterward was lunchtime. Since it was the vegetarian festival from October 8th to October 18th, the vegetarian meal Amori prepared was exceptionally delicious and beautifully presented. We ate and chatted about our life experiences—it was such a peaceful and comforting exchange. Finally, Amori drove us to the magnificent Wat Phra That Doi Saket, where she further explained the basics of Buddhist philosophy and teachings. This allowed us not only to admire the grand temple, but also to gain a deeper understanding of what meditation and Zen practice mean for our true selves when facing the world in the present. This 5-plus-hour journey connecting the spirit and the body was truly unforgettable! It was the most extraordinary experience in Chiang Mai! Highly recommended!
At Flow Yoga Chiang Mai, I went on a quiet journey inward—one I didn’t know I needed. In the early morning light, I followed teacher Amori, practicing mindful walking. Every step felt like coming home to the earth. During seated meditation, I closed my eyes and simply observed—my breath, my body, and the nonstop swirl of thoughts. My legs went completely numb, and it hurt like crazy. But instead of fighting it, I just breathed through it, learning to sit with the discomfort and stay present. Lunch was a simple Thai meal, full of warmth and heart. In the afternoon, we visited an old temple. The ancient murals seemed to whisper stories of time gone by, and everything in me slowed down. Thanks Amori! That day, I was the only student in class—like the universe carved out a little pocket just for me. By the lotus pond, with the sky and trees reflected in still water, I felt something inside me soften. Amori guided me like a gentle sage, helping me return to my most honest, gr
If you're curious about meditation and want to learn more about Buddha's teachings, I'd highly recommend this course! Amori's approach is super hands-on - she gets you to dive in and experience meditation firsthand, and then helps you learn and discover more about it. I was blown away by the temple visits, which were not only super beautiful but also really educational - there were paintings illustrating Buddha's teachings, which was a great way to learn. Amori's ability to weave together meditation, yoga, and temple visits into a cohesive experience is really impressive!
If you want to learn more about meditation, flow yoga, and Thai culture, I highly recommend Amori's program. She is incredibly patient, taking the time to explain every detail of meditation and guiding us through the experience. The flow yoga sessions she designed were also quite challenging, even for us as fitness enthusiasts. After enjoying a delicious homemade Thai lunch, she took us to a beautiful temple and shared fascinating religious stories, deepening my appreciation for the country and its culture. I am truly grateful to Amori for providing such an enriching program. :)
This was a truly special experience. I had never tried meditation before, and my English isn't very good, but Teacher Amori patiently used Google Translate to help me understand the profound meaning of meditation. She personally guided me through the meditation, helping me feel my body and my breath. The teacher is also very wise and knowledgeable. During the temple tour after lunch, I learned a lot about Buddha and meditation, which made me feel enlightened and peaceful. The half-day course was a memorable experience, and I highly recommend it to everyone. I will definitely bring friends to participate again if I have the chance!
Simply visiting Amori's beautiful home makes the trip worthwhile, not to mention the well-guided meditation class, experienced yoga teaching, carefully prepared food, and insightful temple trip. I took part in a yoga retreat in Chiang Mai three years back, and I must say, Amori's retreat feels more genuine and enlightening. I've visited Chiang Mai multiple times, and the countryside has always been my favorite. I would recommend this trip to anyone seeking a genuine, serene time in Chiang Mai. A particularly great experience. If you are tired of visiting Chiang Mai city or want a cleaner vacation, it is highly recommended to experience it. I personally think that the countryside of Chiang Mai is the place that truly represents Chiang Mai. Amori's meditation guidance and yoga instructions are very professional. Her home is stunning, personally designed, and full of character, and it's worth just visiting her home to see it. I was the only one on the day I went, and she took the whole experience completely seriously. Highly recommended.
"Definitely the best thing I've done in Chiang Mai!" This is no ordinary course, it's a great journey. Including meditation, yoga, meals, and temple visits, every aspect, from the environment and hardware to the content, was very exciting and fulfilling under the leadership of Amori. Amori is a friend and mentor who you can easily connect with, and whose wisdom and passion you must experience for yourself. Believe me, no matter where you are in life, whether you are exposed to meditation, yoga or Buddhist thought, you will gain a lot.
A very unique and fulfilling experience. Either you are new to meditation or an experienced practitioner, the host would guide you into deep state of relaxation at her beautiful estate. She is also extremely nice and happy to share her life experience with me. I felt very empowered afterwards and very glad that I joined her class. Thank you.
In the garden at Flow Yoga, located 20 kilometers outside of Chiang Mai's Old City, I attended a 6-hour meditation and yoga workshop taught by instructor Amori. I experienced walking meditation and Zen meditation, discussed my takeaways from today's session alongside my previous self-study, and then enjoyed an invigorating Vinyasa yoga flow followed by a vegetarian meal in the garden. Afterward, we visited Wat Phra That Doi Saket, a mountaintop temple free of tourists, to overlook the entire Chiang Mai basin. Inside the main temple hall, our teacher spent nearly an hour patiently explaining in English the philosophy behind each mural, the essence of meditation and wisdom, and even taught me the true meaning of giving (dana). She is no longer just teaching physical postures and skills; she feels more like a soul mentor who awakened many hazy realizations within me and strengthened my direction and unwavering determination. It was a day filled with Zen-like tranquility. In middle age, we often realize that what we need is not to seek things outwardly, but to find peace within ourselves. Amidst a noisy world, I am so grateful to have encountered Amori's peaceful garden. Thank you, teacher, for tonight in the temple hall, I have already put your teachings into practice.
The day camp was very well planned and conducted. Amori was experienced in guided meditation, her instructions were clear and helped us going through the process. In addition, the lunch was delicious and well decorated! The visit to temples on doi sarket was inspiring too! definitely a recommend and will visit again for long days next time!
