The sticky waterfall was great fun, and the giant rain trees were unexpected and quite serenely beautiful, particularly in the late afternoon. Our guide Paul and driver Dang were very professional. Paul was communicative and informative, explaining clearly what each activity involved, any options and the time available, while Dang got us from one point to another quickly and comfortably.
Highly recommend our tour guide, Satin! He messaged us the night before to confirm our pickup time, super thoughtful and reliable. The car arrived punctually on the day, very clean and comfortable. Satin is a wonderful conversationalist. Along the drive, he shared lots of in‑depth stories about the attractions as well as insights into everyday local life in Thailand. He also took fantastic photos for us once we arrived at each site. Our first stop was the famous giant rain tree on the lake. We got there around 7 a.m. It was surprisingly chilly in the early morning — I’d recommend bringing a light jacket! Mist hung softly over the water, and the ancient tree looked absolutely magical wrapped in fog. The air was incredibly fresh, and the whole place was quiet and peaceful, such a relaxing hidden gem. We also visited Sticky Waterfall. It felt much safer than I imagined! Climbing up those grippy limestone rocks was such a fun and unique experience.
beautiful scenery and friendly tour provided by Satin! he was helpful in answering our questions and shared lots of interesting facts about the area. highly recommended!
I really loved this tour experience! 🌳🤍 Satin led us to the 'Trees in Water' in Chiang Mai, and along the way, she didn't just take us to the sights. She also thoughtfully introduced us to the history of the area, its surroundings, and many little facts we probably wouldn't have noticed on our own. You could tell Satin is very passionate about this place; she was very serious when sharing information and was happy to answer our questions. During the tour, she even proactively helped us find great photo angles and spots, allowing us to capture many photos we really love 📷. Before we set off, Satin also carefully reminded us of important things to note for the itinerary. The entire trip was meticulously planned, and being with her made us feel very at ease. Moreover, Satin was incredibly friendly. Besides the tour, she shared a lot about local life in Chiang Mai and recommended worthwhile activities. We felt completely comfortable with her, and it felt less like traveling with a tour guide and more like meeting a new friend in Chiang Mai, which made this trip feel very special to us.
We booked the morning tour of the Ancient Rain Tree and the Sticky Waterfalls, and after contacting customer service via WeChat, they picked us up at our guesthouse at around 6:00 AM that day. We originally requested a Chinese-speaking guide, but the guide who picked us up only spoke English. However, communication was still fine, and they clearly explained the schedule for the trip. We needed to prepare 100 Thai Baht in cash beforehand for the admission ticket, which we gave to the guide at the Ancient Rain Tree site. We were lucky to have clear weather; with a cool breeze, we took a boat to an area dense with rain trees. Standing under the rain trees in the morning light, listening to the birds chirping from time to time, and watching the sparkling lake surface made for a very therapeutic and pleasant morning. ☀️ Afterwards, about a 30-minute drive brought us to the Sticky Waterfalls. Because it was the National Day holiday, there were too many people. Moving along slowly and taking pictures, it took us an hour to go through it, but it was still quite fun. The white rock surface grips your shoes like a suction cup. At the end of the tour, we found out that one of our fellow travelers lost their footing and fell. The guide accompanied this person to the hospital, while the rest of us were dropped back off in the city center at around 1:30 PM.
We had a wonderful day at the Sticky Waterfall and the Giant Rain Tree. What a unique experience to see the beautiful mountains and landscape of Chiang Mai. Special thanks to our local guide T who speaks great English and takes amazing photos and videos for us! Highly recommend this experience to anyone. Just make sure you bring proper outfit for a wet waterfall experience and some snacks with you for the long day.
I was picked up from hotel around 6:30 AM and we are in a small group, around 10 PAX. We arrived around 7:30 AM and we were the first people to arrive at the area. Boat ride was only 20 minutes. It was really beautiful and serene. Pictures don’t justify what I saw in person. The guide was also fun to be with and takes our photos too! Better to go there in AM since it will be too hot in the afternoon. There was a coffee shop and camping ground around the area. I was dropped-off around 2 PM since I waited the people from our group to finish the sticky waterfall. But, the tour guide will give you an option if you wanted to go home first.
I had a wonderful afternoon today with our tour guide, Nim. I suppose I'm quite lucky; the original group of four was reduced when three people canceled at the last minute, turning me into a VVIP, haha. Nim took great care of me throughout the entire trip, was as easy to get along with as a friend when chatting, and took many beautiful photos for me. I really enjoyed today's half-day tour. Thank you, Nim and the driver, for letting me experience the warmth of the people in Chiang Mai 👍🥰
