Egg coffee is likely the world's most iconic cafe drink. Invented in 1946 by Nguyen Van Giang during the Indochina War when dairy was in short supply, it was a huge success. It is world famous now for its unique creamy sweetness. the process is remarkably creative. We share it here
All the coffee used are of the strong flavourful Vietnamese Robusta brewed in the traditional way and used in various coffee specialties which you learn to make by doing and tasting your creations
It all happens right in the middle of Old Town at Cafe Minh meters away from the Ta Hien Beer Gardens. After class, feel free to stay to enjoy and compare your creations on our balcony or open front sidewalk area. A great day any way you go.

I absolutely loved this coffee class! We were the only ones in the class, so it felt really personal and relaxed. Iris was incredibly knowledgeable and did a great job explaining everything and guiding us through the different coffees. Every coffee we made turned out really good—we enjoyed them so much that we ended up buying some coffee beans to take home! 😆 We had such a fun and enjoyable time during the class. Definitely one of our favorite activities in Hanoi!
Xin Cao - we just loved this egg coffee class ! it was a vibrant one. we shared with Taiwanese tourist. it was fun to learn the history of this egg coffee which originated from Hanoi in the 1940s. the taste ain't bad too ;))
Hai was my instructor and he was very knowledgeable and passionate about egg coffee and other types of Vietnamese coffee as well as the history of Vietnamese coffee throughout decades. You will not only learn how to make coffee but get to know the stories behind each type of coffee. I’ve learned a lot of insights about Vietnamese coffee beans and their characteristics. Totally worth it!
Convenient location. Our instructor Ms. Ha is very kind and friendly. The workshop was fun and informative. We learned how to make vietnamese black coffee, brown coffee, egg coffe and white coffee
I have a coffee class with Iris today. instructor: Iris is passionate.
I booked the 10 AM class, and it was just me and one other girl. The class lasted about 1 to 1.5 hours. The experience included three types of coffee (drip, egg, and white coffee), none of which were too difficult to make. The instructor also explained the origin of Vietnamese coffee. My spoken English is average, but I understood about 80% of what was said. The instructor didn't speak too quickly. The instructor, HI (yes, that's his name), is a young man born in 2004. He was very friendly, humorous, and thoughtful. I hadn't eaten breakfast, so he even gave me some banana chips to tide me over.
We loved our experience with Miss Lena! She was a fantastic instructor- we learned a lot and enjoyed the class. She was great at sharing the history of coffee in Vietnam, explaining the steps, and even taught us the different Vietnamese words for different kinds of coffee, etc. We really loved it! 10/10 would recommend to friends.
it’s on time and well organized. ms iris is really good. activity is highly recommended
Incredible and amazing class. Ruby was a nice coffee coach. patience and friendly.
I made coffee with teacher Davin. Other reviews say they only watched, but here we made it together, whipped it with a whipping machine, separated the egg yolks ourselves, and did it all together. All four finished coffees were so delicious that I couldn't sleep at night. 😂😂😂😂
