This is an absolute must for everyone, when you are in Hanoi, Vietnam. My lovely Michelin Street-Based tour guide, Othecya, made this experience memorable. We went to 2x Pho places, one chicken and another beef, also went to an eel restaurant, which was mind blowingly delicious. Finally, we wrapped up with dessert which was a sticky rice ice cream with mango and pandan coconut, also very tasty.
The Michelin Guided Street Food Walking Tour in Hanoi was a great experience! Our guide, Chris, was fantastic - his stories and trivia about Vietnamese culture and food really added so much flavor to the experience. We hit three different spots to try Bun Cha, but the real standout was the Phở Trộn at Phở Gà Nguyệt. It’s a "dry" noodle dish where you mix the chicken, fresh herbs, bean sprouts, fried onions, and peanuts yourself. You sip the savory soup on the side, which is such a unique and delicious way to eat Pho! I also tried Miến Lươn (eel glass noodles) for the first time. The eel is fried until crispy, and the broth -which Chris mentioned is simmered from eel bones for hours - is incredibly deep and savory. We finished the tour at a cafe where I had some avocado ice cream topped with dried coconut. It was the perfect sweet ending!
Upon arrival, this was the first tour I did with Rose, our guide and it was such an enjoyable experience that showcased top-notched Vietnamese cuisines. Rose was very thoughtful to tell us about the food and how they prepared it. I visited the pho restaurant twice coz it's really good. food:
This is a must try city tour activity and Vietnam! Rachel was able to explain each Michelin guide restaurant and it’s history which give good flavor on your travel trip. The participants are also active and personable throughout the food trip.
We took this tour to get the most of our time and it was worth every Dong. Monica was a very good guide with a wide knowledge of the food, history, the city, the people and answered all of our questions. I would definitely suggest this to other travelers too. Our tummies were so full and we knew what else we wanted to try on the remaining days in Vietnam.
we recommend Kira as tourguide. she brought us to michelin star food places. she even extends her service to tour us to shops and food stalls not included in our tour stops. Her youthful vibe brings out the best of Hanoi old quarter. food, coffee and vibes were 100%. the tour was worth the price.
For those with a brief stay in Hanoi who appreciate famous street food, we would highly recommend this tour. Each dish offers a unique experience. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect, and personally, Bun Cha was my favorite dish.
Olaf is very accommodating. She shared a lot of info about vietnam cuisine and culture. She speaks english fluently and we had an easy conversation. We enjoyed the food we had and we also learned a lot about Vietnam
Hai was a great guide! I enjoyed the experience with him as he was very knowledgeable of the food we ordered and gave me a bit of background and history of each. The food were all great and I did not have any regrets booking this tour. I would definitely recommend this to anybody looking to have a taste of the best food Hanoi can offer. Thank you Hai!
My family of 3 thoroughly enjoyed this walking food tour! We took the 9am tour as we wanted to have noodles for brunch. Our guide, Jenny, (& co-guide Sean) were excellent - both in introducing each dish / drink that we tried, the Hanoian food culture as well as some history of these family run food stalls / cafe. We tried Deep fried eel mien, Pho Ga, Bun Cha and had egg cream coffee at Cafe Dinh, finishing off with a final round of drinks at Hanoi Train St. We highly recommend this tour for those who want to try the best noodles in Hanoi without the stress of figuring out where to go and how to cross those vehicle-laden streets in the Old Quarter!
