Yangmingshan Tien Lai Resort & Spa Hot Spring Experience in Taipei

On a cold and rainy weekend, there were fewer people bathing in the open-air hot spring and fewer people dining in the restaurant, making for a pretty good overall experience. The outdoor area service staff at the open-air hot spring were friendly and polite, and they even offered complimentary hot ginger tea.

The food was surprisingly delicious. I especially chose to go on a weekday. There were not many people and it was quite cozy and comfortable. Although the hotel is old, the overall hygiene and maintenance is still good.

Today I bought the hot spring rolls from Tian Lai Hot Spring Club at klook. Some children are really super cost-effective. In addition to the president's beef noodles, the rolls also contain one large and one small hot spring rolls. The president's beef noodles are quite satisfactory, but The bathing environment is really great. Just when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, bathing in the beautiful environment, you can really feel the relaxation of body and mind. The bath is divided into many sections. You can choose the pool you want according to the temperature you want. Children will not be afraid of being too hot to bath. After the bath, popsicles will be given away. It is really a great tour.

I decided to try Grand View Resort Beitou because of the good reviews online. From Taipei Main Station on the MRT, the bus stop name is NTU Hospital (National Taiwan University Hospital), Exit 3 and across the street! Be sure to take bus number 1717 across the street, and you can get to Grand View Resort Beitou in 1 hour and 20 minutes. This changed in December 2025, so if you look at the internet and take the bus based on old information, you won't be able to find it. The sulfur hot springs were very good, but there are no supermarkets or restaurants. It would be good to prepare in advance. At the resort, you can have a beef steak for lunch for about 10,000 KRW per person. It's hard to use the water park in January because it's cold, but there are several hot spring baths and the water was really good. You may experience some motion sickness on the bus, but it was great to get away from the city and feel nature. I heard that breakfast and dinner are buffet style, but lunch was average. It includes soup, bread, salmon salad, Haagen-Dazs ice cream, coffee, tea, beef steak, and a slice of cake for dessert. The staff are friendly and treat you with a set menu. The staff was friendly and nice, and there is shampoo and body wash in the shower, but only one towel is provided. If you take the bus correctly, it's a good place to visit.

Really liked it, didn't expect the meal to be a buffet, with Häagen-Dazs ice cream and steak, etc. The hot spring scenery is beautiful and the atmosphere is great, and there's even a bedrock bath. I'll definitely come back again if I have the chance!

The reception staff, safety/cleaning staff, and cafe staff are all friendly. There are various baths in the open-air hot spring facility, and the children's swimming facility, slide, and indoor hot spring are all good value for money. Although there were some parts that were a bit uneasy when I used it because a typhoon was coming, it was good regardless of the weather. I want to come back with my family next time when the weather is good. (It was a typhoon and windy day, so there were leaves, tree branches, and other floating things that got caught in my feet, but I can understand and get over it.)

It's good value for money and it's even better when it rains. It's a bit far to get there, but the staff is friendly and the guide takes good care of safety. I bought a set that includes tea and cookies, but I first went to the spa store on the first basement floor and got a paper coupon and a towel locker. I got my key, went up to the cafe on the first floor, paid the paper, had milk tea and cookies, and then went to the spa. It was really nice. The sauna is also at a temperature that Koreans can sleep at. I think the last bus on the 1717 bus is at 5:30 p.m.

On the first day of 2021, the temperature is still low when the winter vacation hits. It is the best place to come to our favorite bathing resort-Tian Lai, and enjoy the warm and happy afternoon when the whole family gathers together!
