What to expect
A stunning kayak paddle right through the centre of Melbourne with amazing views of the skyline and historic bridges along the way.
After a quick briefing and paddling lesson, you will get kitted up and head downriver under the Princes Bridge and into the heart of Melbourne. The tour will continue along the Yarra River past Flinders Station and up to the iconic Polly Woodside Tallship at South Wharf before entering the Docklands precinct and the beautiful Yarra’s Edge Marina. After a short break, the paddlers then head back upstream past Crown Casino and the lively South Bank district before finishing back at Boathouse Drive.
This tour is an appropriate length for younger paddlers who can team up with Mum or Dad or one of our guides. With a fleet of extremely stable Sea Bear kayaks, the experience will be comfortable for first-time paddlers.
Your tour ends back at the boat landing area at the Rowing Sheds, directly across the river from Federation Square.

With the beautiful scenery along the way and the coach's guided tour, the whole journey takes just the right amount of time. You won't be too tired, but you will be very exposed to the sun. However, the club will prepare nice sun hats and sunscreen lotion.

The instructor is very good and the whole activity is very thoughtful. However, the water quality of the Melbourne River is a bit dirty, so it is recommended to wear long pants, but the overall experience is good.

Very good experience and nice sightseeing
It was an enjoyable evening spent on the Yarra River. We kayaked for a reasonable amount of time, about 2 hours. Dinner was fish and chips from one of the restaurants along the river and it was quite yummy. The guides were chill and humorous. The only thing I would improve on would be for the guides to gather us around before telling us fun facts about the city because I couldn't really hear him clearly half the time. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this activity!
