This activity is the highlight of our Bali vacation. The Plantaran cooking class is very fancy and my family loooooved and enjoy this activity. We were welcomed with coffee/tea snacks after the market tour and were given fresh coconut before we start the cooking. Very happy that I have purchased this activity in Plantaran Hotel rather than is other places, you’ll get more than what you paid for. Better to pay a little bit more if you will get this kind of ambiance and speacial treatment. Do yourself a favor and don’t hesitate to book this one.
Chef Budi was great company and informative on all things Bali. He and his assistant (I'm so sorry I now forget her name) were more than happy to answer all my questions on Balinese culture. He showed me how to make the Balinese paste, Chicken Sate, crepes and more. He also taught me how to use the peel of a tomato to make a very cute flower. In addition, the setting of the cooking class is beautiful under a traditional Balinese roof in the middle of rice fields. I recommend anyone to go to this cooking class.
I joined a cooking class, and it was an amazing experience. We visited the market at 8 am, where everything was explained, especially about the local ingredients. After returning to the hotel, I enjoyed a welcome drink before starting the class. Thanks to Chef Budi and Arik, the whole experience was so fun and relaxed. He also took great pics for me. If you’re visiting Ubud, this is definitely a class you shouldn’t miss:)
Special thanks to Chef Komang and Edi, the cooking class in the outdoor kitchen was absolutely wonderful! Truly a 5 star experience, highly recommended.
Easy for beginner cooking experience well guided by the staff throughout the process. They let you taste the food during the process and make adjustments to flavour.
It was an incredible experience! The instructor's deep knowledge and passion for cooking shone through, making the class both educational and enjoyable. The instructions were clear, and the hands-on approach allowed my parents to grasp new techniques effortlessly. The quality of ingredients was exceptional, enhancing the overall learning process. The class had a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone looking to enhance their culinary skills!
It was a very satisfying class. The sanitary conditions were very clean, and cooking while looking at rice fields was healing. I felt like I learned more about Bali by making Balinese food myself, and it was great. It's a must-try experience when you come to Ubud. I definitely recommend it~
It is by far the best cooking class.. The hotel was so pretty and the atmosphere was the best. It was an unforgettable moment with my husband. I ate all the food so deliciously! If you are planning a Bali cooking class, you must go to Plata!!!!!!
I made a reservation for two people, but a passionate chef and two assistants helped with the class. It was a 9 o'clock class, but they said that if you come at 7 o'clock, you can tour the traditional market and purchase necessary ingredients. In particular, you can make and experience your favorite food, and the place is so beautiful! It was inside the hotel, but it felt like cooking in nature because it was among the rice fields. The chef who taught me really loved traditional Balinese food! It was a great time thanks!
Arrived at the hotel by 8 AM. We had about 30 minutes to look around the Ubud market with a brief explanation. Then, we were offered free coffee or tea and bread, allowing us to rest for about an hour before the class started. The place was very clean, and even though it was a one-on-one class, they made me feel comfortable and guided me well 😇. A big thank you to Wika & Budi for helping with the class 🙏. They're young, but their English is better than mine, and they're so cute, haha. I'm very happy with the beautiful photos and videos they took! The process of making the food myself was so much fun, and the finished dishes were so delicious!! The class ended earlier than expected (around 11:30 AM), so I looked around the hotel a bit before returning to my accommodation ☺️. I think I'll be craving the food I made even after I go back to Korea 😂. It was a fun experience!!
