My mom and I went for the half day tour, we took the train from Taipei to Hualien in the morning and reached in good time. When you leave the station there'll be taxi men soliciting, but just smile and ignore them politely. The pick up point for the tour is the tourist information centre 1 min away from the station. Feel free to sit inside and wait for the tour. The pine garden was a very picturesque place (entry fee: 50TW$ or 25TW$ for students and above 65y/o), and the curry lunch was good except we felt it was too early (around 11.30-12pm, we were still full from breakfast so couldn't quite enjoy it to the fullest). our tour guide, Arthur, was very accommodating and happy to give commentary and answer any questions- he could only communicate in Chinese though, but fortunately for us we were with someone who could translate. There were only 3 of us on the tour that day, so it was in a comfortable minivan. He didn't rush us, he knew good angles to help take photos. It was a good clear day to be in Hualien, sights were very scenic and we feel we covered a lot of ground that unless you want to hike, a day tour like this is plenty enough. We were dropped off at the train station in good time to buy our train tickets back to Taipei (I suggest buying your train return after the tour so you won't feel like you need to rush back). I very much recommend this tour!

What To Expect

Take a private day tour to what is arguably Taiwan's most scenic destination, Taroko National Park. Showcasing a diverse range of nature and wildlife: travel from rugged coast, to luscious forest, to the dramatic cliff faces of 19km Taroko Gorge. Delve into the heart of the park at the Swallow Grotto Trail, interspersed with tunnels and the best viewpoint for overlooking the narrowest part of the gorge, where the river is at its most dramatic. After lunch in scenic Tianxiang, you'll visit the Changchung Shrine (or the Eternal Spring Shrine), a beautiful temple nestled within the hillside, atop a waterfall stream that supposedly never stops running (hence the name of the shrine). Before ending at Qixingtan, famed for its pebble beach and fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean.

we cancelled the trip because of the weather that time due to the typhoon mangkhut that was in between philippines and taiwan. forecast on that day in hualien showed it would be raining the entire day. we did not risk going there for safety reasons. as advised also by peter, our tour guide with the yehliu bus tour we purchased with klook. he said we would be wearing helmets on the tour as sometimes rocks would fall... and then the rain... so we weighed our options and we decided not to go through. we (hubby and me) were travelling with our 4yo son. tried to contact klook to cancel the booking so i can get my refund but no definite answer. 24 hr support is not real. they would just send an advisory that was probably just computer generated. i mean, no actual person was available to accommodate our concerns. i tried to call the support here in the philippines but the number is not available. not able to reach the number. why klook? even in the philippines? i'm a klook fan since last year and klook made life easier for us when we travelled. but this. this is our first mishap with klook. i want a response from a person from klook and have our refund - that's all. thank you

The trip was truly a breath of fresh air. It was really mesmerizing to visit places that bring you closer to nature and leave you with a reminder of how simple life is. It was beyond beautiful. I'm glad I went on this trip and would definitely come back again someday. Thanks, Klook!

Good tour for people that prefer only a brief summary of the place.

We weren’t able to join this tour because we missed the first train schedule from Taipei main station going to Taroko. The tour guide was kind enough to call us to see if they can wait for us, but it was too late.
