tonight there is chinese opera . the show is great although there are some mistakes. the story is from a part of Journey to the west .the opera style is kind of comic opera and easy to understand. very entertaining.

Personally I dont understand why people rate this show so high. Nothing is special except for the pre-show activities and the women staffs are really good-looking :D. My kids were queuing for face painting activities but it was such a long queue (just 1 staff in charge of this activity) that by the time the show started, there were still few kids in front of them and all those 5 kids did not have chance to experience that. They should have more staffs for activities that are fond of. About the main show, as I said earlier, nothing is special. The act was so normal that I feel I was watching a show of non-professionals. With pretty pricey tickets, I expect more than that. This show is definitely touristy, like the show of Ionah in Hanoi, but Ionah is way better. IMO, this is not recommended.

I really enjoyed watching the opera, the custome and photo taking with characers before and after the show. The opera is a story of love, good vs evil. You will enjoy every minute of it as you will be fascinated with the acting, coatumes and performance of the cast and crew of the opera. Thanks klook

The building was not easy to find. I was expecting a lit up theatre. But it was down a side street. Even when I entered the place I was still not sure it was the correct place. But I was enthusiastically greeted by the staff who seemed to be applauding me for finding the place. I then headed up an elevator to the third floor and finally believed I was in the right venue! Everything leading up to the event seemed rather low key and amateur. There were a few activities to participate in (such as trying on a costume and having your picture taken) and a small table selling products from the show. A few dolls, postcards and stickers...nothing very substantial. That being said THE SHOW IS WELL WORTH SEEING. Costumes, music but especially the extreme talent, (singers, acrobats, and performers)...nothing less than fabulous. The opera may not be everyone's style but to witness the advanced skill and training by these performers is impressive. I trained a little in this type of performance so was able to appreciate the advanced level of these performers. It saddened me to see the place half empty. Peking Opera is a very specific style of opera and as a genre may not be to everyones liking. However...you have to appreciate the brilliance of these performances. From acrobatics, to the exact punctuation of every facial and physical gesture these performers are to be admired. They train for years: add to that their vocal ability...it is truly an experience to witness once if you can. Antiquated...yes...but rooted in history and philosophy and the story of Tang and the Monkey King is ingrained in the Asain conscience. In my opinion to appreciate Asia is to understand the myths and legends of the country.
