What to expect
This small group (max 8 guests) hiking tour is made for those who want the best of the beach and the mountains. We arrive at Wilsons Prom and embark on our first hike for the day which takes us through beautiful terrain and emerges to the vastness of “The Big Drift” Wilsons Promontory sand dunes. An out of this world and inescapable view that can be often overlooked.
Once we return we will take a small drive to the general store for some lunch. Next, it’s time for our second hike of the day, a 6.8 km return journey to the famous Mt Oberon. From the summit, you will experience arguably the best coastal views in Victoria.
Our next stop is one of our favourites, Squeaky Beach Here you can wander on the incredibly white rounded grains of quartz which make a squeaking sound giving this popular local beach its name. Finally, as we are departing the National Park, we will make a stop to see our native furry friends. There is a high chance you’ll see Wombats, Emus, Kangaroos and Wallabies going about their daily business.

Reviews
Hike & Seek is a good tour operator for this trip. The vehicle provided was spacious and clean. The trip was a fast but fun one as the guide introduces the background of Wilson promontory and finding wildlife for our photo taking. The view was worth it for the hike and the beach view at the very last stop was so beautiful.
the guide was great and caring, offered sunscreen, water and museli bars. however, there were 11 people instead of the advertised 9 persons max and there was no organic fruit.
We went with Joe on the tour. It was a nice trail with perfect weather and pretty scenery for us. Joe was a very helpful, nice and chill guide to accompany us on the tour. Would recommend it to everyone with intermediate fitness level cause you don't want to miss the top of the sand dune and mountain. The view is amazing
Highly recommended for those who want to see different natural landscapes in one day. The Squeaky Beach was amazing. It was cloudy that day but our excellent tour guide had adjusted the schedule based on the weather and our preferences so that we can make the most of it.
We were blessed with good weather and it was a wonderful tour. The number of people was small, so we were able to work together and enjoy the climb. The guide was very cheerful and kind, and I felt at ease. I think the climbing level is intermediate. I recommend wearing adjustable clothing.
The tour guide Patrick is very kind. He also prepares bananas, tea, coffee and replenishing water buckets. Don’t worry about the lack of water. He will introduce many interesting points along the way. Before arriving at the first point, you will go to a rest stop where you can buy breakfast first. And lunch, later at the second point we will have lunch on the rocks watching the scenery. The first section is a round trip of about 2 kilometers on the sand dunes. Climbing a section of sand slope in the middle will be a bit tiring. The director said that this terrain changes in four seasons, and it may be different next time. The second section is a round trip of about 7.4 kilometers. , the journey is mostly slightly uphill, not too difficult. In the end, you will reach the highest point where you can sit on a rock and have lunch. The third section is to the coast to watch the sea (if you come in summer, you may wear a swimsuit to go to the sea). The last section is to Looking for wild animals, we saw wild wombats, kangaroos, and emus. Overall, this trip is great and highly recommended. It has a real feeling of walking into nature. This group is very lucky. In such a small group, 5 of the 8 people are Taiwanese. It was very fun to walk and chat along the way. of.
It was a small cosy group of 3 ladies with the tour guide Marcus from Hide and Seek. Marcus was very knowledgeable of the animals. He is a great travelling guide too as he shares his travelling experience. He took care of us well throughout the trip and was there to provide a helping hand. He also provided us with ponchos. Hike was a little interesting as it was rainy and very very windy. The scenery was beautiful and made the trip worthwhile!
breathtaking view from the start and our tour guide has been accommodating, friendly and drive well!
Fully packed activities and our tourist Jeremy were sharing a lot of knowledge about wild animals and his tour around the world.
Lovely views you won’t get anywhere else! Quite a drive out of Melbourne and it was lovely to have an experienced driver like Shane take care of everything. The hikes were manageable for anyone of moderate fitness but Australia’s nature can be treacherous (read: snakes!) so it was great to have an experienced guide along. I think this was the only tour of Wilson’s prom with the big drift- 10/10 worth it!
