It’s a long journey to Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon but it is totally worth it. It was rather crowded at the dining area for lunch and will prefer that a little more time to be allocated for lunch.

What To Expect

Experience the haunting beauty of Jökulsárlón glacial lake on this day trip to the edge of Vatnajökull National Park on the southeast edge of Iceland. Your trip will begin with a morning departure from Reykjavik with your guide. Along the way, your bus will pass by some of the most stunning scenery in Iceland, including 3 of Iceland’s most stunning waterfalls, black sand deserts, and charming small towns. When you arrive at Jökulsárlón, marvel at the sight of pale-blue icebergs floating in the glacial lake. The Breiðarmerkurjökull glacier is slowly retreating from the ocean and leaving the icebergs in its wake. Board the specialized boats to get up close to the floating icebergs, made up of centuries old ice. See the icebergs that have floated out to the beach and making their way out to the open sea. You won’t want to miss this unique Iceland experience!

Jokulsarlon Lagoon is so beautiful, it's really one of those places you just have to visit when you're in Iceland. The photos I took didn't do it justice (and I took a lot! Everywhere you look was just breathtaking) Really hard to miss this gem of a spot and it's equally hard to forget

Absolutely thrilling experience to have been there during my trip to Iceland. It can get a bit crowded during peak hours but otherwise it's a completely amazing place.

The overall landscape is good, but there is no boat trip to the glacier, a little disappointed!
