The travel agency will send an email to confirm driver's name and vehicle number one day before departure date. I managed to contact my driver/guide via Whatsapp the day before to confirm our pickup time. My guide Anson was very friendly and attentive. Our tour around Ipoh was very enjoyable thanks to him. He even brought us to gunung lang taman rekreasi that was outside the itinerary as it was near the Perak Cave Temple. We took a lot of nice photos there. Shopping at the concubine lane was fun and lunch at Lou Wong which had ipoh's signature tauge ayam was delicious. We also enjoyed a nice tea break at the Kin Loong Valley which is right next to the scenic tasik cermin. We ended off our tour with a nice walk around Kellie's Castle. Would definitely recommend this tour if you are in Penang and would like to swing a quick day trip to Ipoh.
We took part in a one-day tour of Ipoh for 2 persons on April 28. Our driver, Tah (Mr. Zheng), contacted us via WhatsApp one day in advance and asked for our opinions. We found that he could communicate in two languages, which made us feel very friendly. 👍🏻Tah learned that we thought we were leaving too early and might not be able to catch breakfast. After asking for our opinions, he decided to leave Penang at 8:00 the next day. Authentic breakfast can be arranged along the way. 🥣Tah is an experienced driver-guide. He told stories about the history, customs, documents, politics, economy and attractions of Ipoh, Penang and Malaysia along the way. He was humorous and full of laughter. 😝After arriving in Ipoh, he flexibly arranged the time for attractions and never rushed us, allowing us to have a leisurely and comfortable time. 😌He also introduced the attractions of Ipoh that day. A famous snack. After asking for advice, we were happy to go to Wangji Tofu Pudding Shop. It was unforgettable after trying it. We knew what lazy tofu pudding was. It turned out that there were a wide variety of sugars to choose from. We chose blue flower sugar and osmanthus sugar. We could also add stuffed glutinous rice balls. The taste was first-class👍🏻Finally, on the way back, after our hard request, he took us to a seafood restaurant in the palm tree that only locals know to go to. The taste was delicious and the price was cheap, only one-third of the price in Hong Kong. We also tried the sour lemon flavor and curry seafood bread dishes that we had never tasted before😋It is worth recommending👍🏻The two of us ordered three dishes and two coconuts for only $90 Malaysian ringgit🤩Finally, we returned to the hotel with a happy time🌈Next time I come to Penang, I will find Tah again. I sincerely recommend it to everyone👍🏻
Good experience. Nice old city. our guide Mr. Thomson was nice. Explained well about Ipoh City history.
we have great experience with this private tour. our driver Teh show us aroind IPOH and tell us about the history and show us magnificient places. We really enjoy and have a surprise with place that we have not see before.
The trip saves effort, though not necessarily time or money—but it still feels worthwhile. It’s flexible: the driver takes you to popular spots, and you can stay as long as you like at each. Lunch is included, but it’s a fixed set; you’ll need to pay extra if you want more variety. The car is spacious and clean. However, there’s room for improvement in communication. Although LINE is listed as a contact method on Klook, it’s not commonly used locally, so the driver couldn’t reach me beforehand—and didn’t try calling either. The itinerary also lacks detail. I didn’t know how much time I could spend at each location or what the next stop would be. That undermines the flexibility, as better planning could have helped avoid repetitive sights.
Its a great tour to Ipoh. Our tour guide Anson was super helpful and on time. He even took us to a spot that wasn't on the itinerary.
We crossed 2 huge Penang bridges and visited many places of interest, not only the listed places but also unknown places, e.g. Taman Rekreasi GUNUNG LAND, TASIK CERMIN etc. Mr. Teh's guide was uique and interesting. Famous chicken and bean sprouts lunch was delicious. It was an invaluable experience for us. Terima kasih.
Our guide Anson was very nice and professional. He took to a couple of extra spots which was not in the itinerary so we could see more of Ipoh. We enjoyed the chicken rice and “hor-fun” lunch too.
Mr Anson Sim is a professional and knowledgeable guide. He looks after our needs well. He is also flexible in pickup time and locations to visit. 5 stars!
We had a fantastic experience with our tour guide, Mr. Danny, today! He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and made the entire tour enjoyable and comfortable. He explained everything clearly, shared interesting information about the places we visited, and was always attentive to our needs. Mr. Danny’s positive attitude and excellent service really made our day special. We truly appreciated his patience and effort throughout the tour.
