What to expect

Travel from Ayers Rock Resort to Kings Canyon, with a cooked breakfast stop at Kings Creek Station. Choose between the challenging Rim Walk — a three-hour hike featuring steep, rocky sections and stunning views over Watarrka National Park — or the easier Creek Bed Walk, a gentle two-kilometre stroll offering impressive canyon vistas. On the Rim Walk, follow your guide along the canyon edge, descend into the lush Garden of Eden, and climb back to the top to complete the circuit. After your hike, relax and enjoy lunch at Kings Canyon Resort (own expense). Finally, board your coach for the return journey to Ayers Rock Resort, travelling along Lasseter Highway and passing the striking Mt. Conner on Curtin Springs Station.

Review for: Day Tour - Return to Ayers Rock

Lovely tour but I would not recommend taking if you don't regularly do sports of have a good fitness level, or have health issues that prevent you from hiking/trekking. They do have an easier alternative if you wish to take (the Kings Creek Walk), but that one is auite short and there is nothing else to do after that while waiting for the hikers (aside from taking a helicopter ride, which will cost around $250/person, or taking a dip at King's Canyon resort). Overall, regarding value for money, if you aren't that fit and want sth else aside from Uluru & the free activities at the resort, I'd recommend taking the Kata-Tjuta Day Tour instead.

Tour Guide: Extremely professional, with interesting and engaging stories. Learned a lot. Group Size: Moderate. The group is divided into two routes, allowing you to choose based on your physical fitness. The three-hour route is highly recommended. Itinerary: Self-service breakfast in the morning, followed by a hike of about three hours led by a professional instructor. After the hike, we'll go to a rest area for a meal. On the way back, we'll pass by another scenic spot. The tour bus provided is very comfortable.

The trip is picked up at 6.35 am and start at 7.00 am. It took 3.5 hours to arrive at the canyon. To walk in the top of canyon, you need to bring at least 2 L of water. The guide of the tour is overall professional.

Worth a visit in addition to Uluru-Kata Tjuta trip as it offers different experience. Highly reccomend the rim walk but only when you are well prepared and physically fit as the walk truly requires physical demanding. I would say not only the first 500 steps which most people agrees the most difficult ones but also throughout the entire walk. But the view is very rewarding… Also thanks to Alex our guide as he is very caring and such an informative walk…

A whole-day trip included a breakfast buffet. Two routes can be chosen: one is easy, within an hour, which has a limited view at the bottom and then allows for a three-hour rest at the resort afterward. A helicopter experience is optional during free time. The other is harder but offers a better view from the top and then an hour for lunch afterward.

The scenery was beautiful and the rock formations were unique. Thank you to our guide, who was very professional and helped me understand how the local environment was formed. I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. The drive was a bit long, but it was definitely worth it. We were lucky enough to see kangaroos along the way. The beautiful scenery on the return journey was unforgettable.

The Kings Canyon rim walk was a great experience! The first 500 steps to ascend is a challenge, but the rest is a lot easier. The guides, Hayley and Beatrice, were very knowledgeable, and have shared a wealth of information about the site. The group size of 11 was very manageable.

A very unique landscape, well worth visiting. The TTA tour leader was very dedicated, introducing and guiding us through the entire 6-kilometer trail. I recommend this day trip (you need to confirm the morning departure time with the hotel yourself; the hotel staff will have information available, and we didn't encounter any issues).
