Well organized, tour guide is knowledgeable. Love the cold towels after the hike. It's also great that they have a cooler filled with cold water so that you can top up your personal water bottles after the hike.

What To Expect

Spend the day immersed in the grand nature that Australia is so famously known for! Start off your tour by being picked up from your hotel in the Ayers Rock Resort. You will depart from Ayers Rock to Kings Canyon, stopping for breakfast at Kings Creek Station along the way, where their coffee is said to be the best in the territory! Next, you will head to Canyon Rim for a rocky climb to the rim of the canyon for a view of Watarrka National Park. Tip-toe around the rim to look down into the canyon gorge at the various lookout points. The climb requires quite a bit of physical fitness, so if you're not feeling it, opt for the alternative boulder-strewn creek bed where the you can stroll along shaded canyon walls that lead to impressive views of the canyon rim. Then head off to Kings Canyon Resort and treat yourself to a delicious lunch, or take a dip in the resort pool to cool off. At the end of your trip, you will either be taken back to Ayers Rock or driven to Alice Springs with amazing outback scenery along the journey.

The canyon is great but the tour is a bit in hurry. We were asked not to take photos but to walk faster. It was a bit poor for not taking some of the nice view photos.
  • Ka Man 23 Oct 2018
There are 2 walking routes for you to choose and we picked the longer one for around 3 Hours. Not as difficult as we thought before . The view is good and the tour guide is very nice and patient. Light breakfast is Included. Definitely recommend to those come visit uluru.

Very, very HOT on January! When we arrive King's canyon, (driving 4 hours from Ayer's Rock ) around 8:30am, the temperature was about 38 degrees in Celsius, which was keeping climbing to maximum 43 degrees in Celsius during 3 hours!! There is very high risk of heat stroke. For safety concern , we decided to give up rim walk. But there is no place to hide from the high temporature in kings canyon resort until 12:45 pm..... All the driving way , our guider keep talking about lots of outback stories, animals...is very wonderful way to understand this great area! In conclusion, it might be a good experience but NOT in VERY HOT SUMMER day. The King’s Canyon in January is very hot ! ! ! It is already 38 degrees when you arrive at the local area, and the temperature will continue to climb. It is very high in heat stroke and even heat exhaustion. We have no choice but to give up the most beautiful rim walk.... After a simple creek walk, there is no good place to avoid the scary heat (Kenya Resort only has chairs outside to stay), in fact, it is easy to heat stroke, noon When the outside is close to 43 degrees, the sweat will evaporate immediately. It’s a great pity that this long way (adding up and down for eight hours). Even if the tour guide is very responsible, I will recommend a lot of things along the way. It will be a bit angry. Why is this weather still hard to get out of the group? In addition to safety issues, it is also a waste of time. In fact, you can write these things clearly, instead of handing us a consent form when you have breakfast at 7:30. Explain that this is a very dangerous activity. It is easy to get involved. I can agree to participate. (There is a feeling of being threatened.) If her official website has written clearly that this will happen in January, we may consider participating in other short-distance missions at the beginning. .

The car arrives at the hotel on time. If you are traveling fast, you can take a helicopter to watch the Imperial Canyon at your own expense (150 AUD 15 minutes)

The view that the rare view of the Valley of the Kings is surrounded by the deep valley makes the journey very difficult. The moment of the sunrise, the other side of the tour guide Ayers Rock, the tour guide is very worthy of participation.
