Miyazaki One-Day Tour | Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine × Takachiho Gorge × Amanoiwato Shrine × Amano Yasukawara
Good news! Good news! Route upgrade notification | Explore popular Takachiho attractions in one day Starting January 20, 2026, the new route officially departs! Step into Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, known as the “entrance to another world,” explore the secret realm of Takachiho Gorge, enjoy a specially selected beef lunch, and then head to the birthplace of mythology, Amanoiwato Shrine & Amano Yasukawara. An ultimate experience of nature, faith, and gourmet food in one day.
Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine A place many anime fans specifically visit, it is considered one of the inspirations for the setting of “Hotarubi no Mori e.” Cedar forests, stone steps, and stone lanterns extend all the way, quiet and a little mysterious. The moment you stand on the approach, you really feel as if you’ve stepped into an animated world.
Chiho no Ie Lunch Before heading to the next attraction, let’s enjoy a hearty lunch! You’ll need energy for the upcoming itinerary, which involves more walking and charming scenery. In Takachiho Gorge, enjoy authentic Miyazaki specialty dishes while admiring the beautiful canyon scenery, and your happiness will instantly be full. *If reservations cannot be made due to full occupancy or other reasons, the restaurant will be changed (please be sure to inform in advance if you do not eat meat; a vegetarian set meal will be provided).
Takachiho Gorge Miyazaki’s most popular check-in spot, bar none! Neatly arranged basalt cliffs, flowing waterfalls, and clear streams, whether viewed from above or slowly walked along the path, every frame is a magnificent “god’s eye view.” Shuttle bus arranged! After visiting Takachiho Gorge, are your legs tired? Don’t worry~ our exclusive shuttle bus is waiting for you to get on, easily return to the parking lot, and save your energy for the next stop.
Amanoiwato Shrine & Amano Yasukawara Legend has it that the sun goddess Amaterasu once hid in a cave out of anger, plunging the world into darkness. The gods held an “emergency meeting” in this forest and eventually brought her back to light. A 10-minute walk from the small path behind the shrine leads to the mysterious “gods’ meeting place.” In front of the cave, streams flow, and both sides are piled high with prayer stone towers, densely packed, creating a super shocking scene. If you want to cleanse your mind, replenish your spiritual energy, and take beautiful photos from a god’s perspective, this is a classic route not to be missed!

Reviews
it felt surreal to see the waterfalls. I wish I rode one of the boat ride. but overall, all the itinerary was great! we were given enough time to take photos and travel back to our bus. wish we had more time in Takachiho Gorge. or have an option to have the boat ride. regardless, I had an amazing time.
Overall, I had a great time on this day trip, and the tour guide was excellent! At the first attraction, Aso-jinja Shrine, the stop was a bit rushed, especially with the crowds and the climb to the top. It would have been better if we had a little more time. This trip requires a good amount of stamina, as there's a lot of walking, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes! Also, the travel time is quite long, about 6 hours round trip, so it's best suited for those who are comfortable with long car rides. The included wagyu beef lunch set was delicious, and both the portion size and quality were surprisingly good. They even poured bamboo sake, which added a nice ceremonial touch. Overall, I think it's a great value for money because it includes transportation and lunch, and you get to visit so many attractions in one day. For independent travelers, it really saves a lot of planning time and allows you to visit places that are usually harder to reach!
Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine was absolutely gorgeous!! It was described as mystical and it really felt that way. The only bad thing was that I couldn't capture just how beautiful it was on camera. Takachiho Gorge was also nice, and our guide Ryu took us through explaining different sections and taking photos in am orderly fashion. The Miyazaki meal set was quite nice, and you can cook the beef to your liking - it was very tender and delicious! Amano Iwato shrine has a nice view. The walk back in particular was nice, and the mango soft serve was yummy!
First time using Klook • Solo Japanese participant • Limited multilingual skills. I signed up bracing myself for 100% feeling out of place! But the tour guide made it a happy experience! They greeted me with a huge smile and showed me to the bus, saying, 'Don't worry, it'll be alright!' True to their word, they were attentive to each person throughout the entire tour, provided information before reaching each destination, and incorporated elements learned from past experiences and a great sense of humor! They were fluent in Japanese, English, and Chinese. Front row seats (limited availability) + fee → According to the guide, since there were fewer participants this time, they were able to prepare seats with plenty of space in front and beside them! I had a great view of the scenery while driving, so I was very lucky this time and it was a great decision to book! But, that doesn't mean it will be the same next time. It depends on luck! Lastly, I've always preferred planning my own trips, but thanks to the tour guide, I was able to open a new door, and I'd like to participate in a bus tour again if I have the chance. Thank you to the tour guide and driver! ✨
This was a great experience to see a few beautiful shrines and Takachio Gorge. Their was quite a bit of hiking (some between 10-20 mins up and down hills or stairs) to the sites but the sites made the journey worth it. Our tour guide was excellent. I forgot her name but she was great with providing us all the information for each site and even some stories and jokes along the way. I believe all of our tour group spoke chinese but she made sure to explain in English for us as well. She was friendly and kept checking in with us to make sure we were ok. We had a great time!
Used Klook Miyazaki Day Trip on 2026/01/11. We rarely encounter snow forecasts, but unexpectedly, we actually experienced it. Our first stop was Hakusen Suigen. It started snowing along the way. After arriving, we purified ourselves and filled a bottle with spring water. It was sweet, smooth, and more delicious than mineral water. The tour guide even bought sweet oranges for everyone, which was really thoughtful ❤️ Our second stop was Takachiho Gorge. The snow was getting heavier and heavier. The gorge and waterfall paired with the snow scenery were so beautiful that we didn't want to leave. For lunch, we had beef udon noodles, which were especially warming in the cold weather. Our third stop was Ama-no-Iwato Shrine, where I bought milk mango soft-serve ice cream. It was really super delicious and rich. We slowly finished this day amidst the snowy scenery and waterfalls. I realized that the most beautiful part of traveling isn't the planned itinerary, but the scenery you just happen to encounter 🤍
This trip was truly unforgettable. The guide Chen was incredibly kind and attentive, and the driver was polite and drove safely. I loved every place we visited, and I’m so grateful for the beautiful memories I made here. I’ll definitely come back again and next time I’ll bring my friends too! 本当に素敵な時間をありがとうございました✨😊💕
Lui was a fantastic guide! Excellent communication skills! Gave us more insights than what we have researched beforehand on the internet. The Takachiho gorge was the highlight of this trip definitely! The Miyazaki beef lunch that was provided in this tour was fantastic too. It takes the guesswork out of the tourists thinking where to eat and keeps everyone on schedule too. The Shirakawa Suigen was okay but the highlight was the purchase of the soy sauce using water from the spring. The last place we went to was okay too but for me the view when you get to the cave wasn’t worth the walking downhill and uphill going back. The views along the way were better. It’s a good thing there was a store that sold delicious ice cream when we reached flat land. The ride back took longer due to the traffic but when you book this tour, I hope you get Liu as your guide. He was perfect! 👌
My wife and I really enjoyed our trip and would definitely recommend it. Besides the great itinerary (Takachiho Gorge is such a beauty) and the scrumptious beef set for lunch, what made this trip special is how our tour guide took care of us and ensured that everyone was having fun. Big thanks to Yun-san for all her effort.
Miyazaki itinerary is great though the journey was rather far. My guide Mr Liu is professional, well-prepared, and very knowledgeable. He communicated clearly and confidently in English, Chinese, and Japanese, which made the tour smooth and easy for everyone. He managed the schedule with great care. I truly appreciated his patience, cultural insights, and overall professionalism. Bus driver must be given credit for safe and smooth driving. Last, the Miyazaki beef set lunch was really good!
