Reviews
A perfect nature tour of Kyushu, thanks to our guide, Nanami! I just finished my trip to Kumamoto and Miyazaki and couldn't wait to write this glowing review. The itinerary for this tour group was exceptionally well-designed, perfectly blending natural wonders with cultural experiences. In Aso, we witnessed one of the world's largest active volcanoes, an unforgettable experience of the Earth's pulse. We strolled across the vast grasslands of Kusasenri, feeling a unique sense of openness and tranquility. The boat ride through Takachiho Gorge was the highlight of the entire trip, making us feel as if we had stepped into a mythical world. The 'soul' of all these wonderful experiences was undoubtedly our guide, Nanami. She is incredibly professional and passionate: 1. Knowledgeable: She knows Kyushu's history, culture, geological formations, and local specialties like the back of her hand. Her explanations were vivid and engaging, allowing us not just to see the scenery but to understand the stories behind it. 2. Bilingual Communication: Our group had many international friends, and she served everyone throughout the trip with fluent Chinese and English, ensuring seamless communication and taking care of every member. It was very thoughtful. 3. Warm and Attentive: She always had a radiant smile, carefully looked after the elderly and children in the group, and helped everyone solve various problems, just like a reliable older sister. Thanks to Nanami, this journey was filled with warmth and cherished memories. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Kyushu! I hope to meet her again on my next trip.
This was our first time visiting Fukuoka, and we originally planned to try booking Gokanosho Gorge boat tickets ourselves. Unfortunately, after trying for days, we were unsuccessful. So, we decided to purchase a one-day tour package directly through Klook, and we were initially worried it might be a mistake. However, we ended up with a fantastic tour guide, a driver with excellent driving skills, and a group of tourists on the bus who were all wonderful. The Chinese-speaking guide even shared must-see, must-eat, and must-visit attractions in Fukuoka. The guide also reminded us of important things, which made our family feel that the money was well spent, and even the kids loved the guide (Xiao An). The journey from Fukuoka to Gokanosho Gorge took over two hours, with a stop at the Kumamoto service area along the way, where we could buy souvenirs and catch up on sleep on the bus afterwards. The skilled driver drove smoothly all the way to Gokanosho Gorge. Tourists who were going to row followed the tour guide to get their boarding passes, while those who weren't rowing could stroll along the trail and enjoy the scenery. The Miyazaki beef barbecue for lunch was also a fantastic meal, with a unique flavor. For travelers who like sour drinks, I recommend buying "Nichinatsu Mikan" 100% pure orange juice, which is cold and delicious! (This was recommended by our guide, Xiao An.) Rowing was also a great experience. Our family of four (2 adults, 1 elementary school child, and 1 four-year-old) rode in one boat. The kids were excited watching their dad row, and we all had a great time! After lunch, we took the bus to Kusasenri, which is 1,500 meters above sea level. The weather was really comfortable, around 20 degrees Celsius, which made us very happy! (Southern Taiwan is just too hot.) The misty Kusasenri was also a beautiful sight. Next, we went to see Mount Aso's crater. When we arrived, it was still foggy and drizzling, but we waited patiently for the fog to clear. Finally, we saw the crater, and it was an amazing experience that one rarely gets in life. It was truly an awesome trip. Thank you to Xiao An, our guide, and the driver for making this trip full of wonderful memories!
The scenery of Takachiho Gorge is breathtaking. The emerald green waters flowing through the gorge, combined with the magnificent rock walls, create a stunning vista. Boating through the gorge is an unforgettable experience, and the feeling of being surrounded by nature is pure bliss. The travel agency we partnered with for this trip was excellent. From the itinerary planning to the on-site service, they were professional and attentive. The entire process was seamless and smooth. The tour guides and staff were also very dedicated, doing their utmost to help us achieve all our travel goals. Even the challenging volcano crater tour was successfully arranged thanks to their careful planning, allowing us to witness the awe-inspiring volcanic landscape firsthand. The entire journey was full of surprises and emotions. Both the natural scenery and the quality of service were incredibly satisfying. I wholeheartedly recommend it to travelers who want to deeply experience the natural beauty of Kyushu.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Klook day tour to Takachiho Gorge & Mt. Aso. Despite the crowded 8:00 AM meeting point, clear instructions helped us find our excellent guide, Sun Nan, who shared great local insights. Takachiho Gorge was stunning, enhanced by the remaining autumn leaves, and the 30-minute self-rowing boat ride was a fun highlight. While the included beef lunch was standard, we were lucky to have access to the impressive Mt. Aso volcano crater for photos. Kusasenri was mainly a relaxing stop for souvenirs and trying the excellent ice cream, as the grassland was off-season. Note: Due to the distance from Hakata station, the journey is long, resulting in a late return around 6:45 PM. Highly recommend this tour for its amazing natural sights, but be prepared for a full day of travel.
Being the only Thai person on this trip, our guide Emily took great care of me. It made me not worry at all about my first solo tour. Luckily it was sunny in Takachiho, the waterfall was beautiful, and the Mount Aso area was stunning and the atmosphere was like in a movie! Highly recommended 💛 P.S. In December, you should bring the most complete winter gear!
Worth the 3 hours one-way bus ride! Beautiful sights and a smooth, well-organized tour. Takachiho gorge was stunning, Kusasenri plain was serene and to be able to be view Mt Nakadake crater up close was really memorable! and the experience felt relaxing and Special thanks to Emily, our guide, whose friendly approach, clear explanations, and genuine care made the trip even better. Highly recommended!
An excellent tour guide and a rich itinerary made for a satisfying experience. Having only three attractions on the itinerary was already quite fulfilling. Besides providing clear explanations and helping with taking photos, the tour guide, Xiao Shuai, also shared a lot of information about Takachiho Gorge and Mount Aso. This allowed travelers to better understand the journey, not just take photos for social media. It's recommended to sign up for the rowing experience to admire Takachiho Gorge up close; the scenery is top-notch when there's sunshine. Mount Aso happened to be fully open today, and with such great weather, the crater could be seen clearly. Kusasenri has a vast grassland where you can take pictures with cows and horses. Many families were having a great time together. There's the Aso Volcano Museum nearby, but unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to visit. Finally, we stopped by a café for coffee, ice cream, and souvenir shopping. Although it's not yet the autumn foliage season, the scenery along the way is beautiful and worth a visit! Transportation Arrangement: The meeting point is convenient, and the driving was safe and smooth throughout the journey. Tour Guide/Leader: Clear Mandarin explanations, rich information, and attentive care. Meal Arrangement: The taste wasn't the best, but the environment and cleanliness were satisfactory. Itinerary Arrangement: The attractions were outstanding, and all arrangements were very smooth. It's very suitable for different people, especially solo travelers. This price includes transportation, meals, and rowing, making it a great value!
This trip arranged for a large tour bus to pick up travelers, with spacious seating between rows. The air conditioning on the bus was excellent. The views of Takachiho Gorge and Kusasenri were absolutely beautiful. The trip included a boating experience. Our tour guides, Mr. Seki and Ms. Lee, proactively took photos for every group member and provided very clear explanations, attending to the needs of each person, which was commendable! The meal during the trip was a wagyu beef set, which was delicious and exquisite; I'm glad I added it on. I highly recommend this one-day experience tour if you're visiting Fukuoka.
the trip was good but unfortunately it was raining. however the itinerary was well planned but a little short of places to visit besides the gorge and Mt Aso. Minna our tour guide was good explaining the locations in both languages. thanks Minna for the guidance and our driver for a safe journey.
We have seen many pictures and videos of the Takachiho gorge but seeing it live and experiencing it in person brings it to a whole new level! This Klook tour will not disappoint as it all starts with our wonderful guide, Helen. She explained our day and ensured that everyone had a great time! there was plenty of time to explore the gorge even when you have booked a boat ride as the sessions were staggered 1/2 hour apart. it’s too bad that we didn’t see Mt Aso crater as it wa closed due to the accident that happened earlier this year but we got to see the base and Helen shared out some videos and photos from her previous visits with us. at the end of the tour Helen shared out some great shopping places in Hataka area. thanks for letting us know grocery store tip for strawberries!!!! a long day but worthwhile trip!
