Guide

Located in Laishui County, Baoding, Hebei, about 100 kilometers west of Beijing, Yesanpo Scenic Area is a popular destination for enjoying natural scenery and escaping the summer heat in the Beijing suburbs. Yesanpo is a general term for a group of scenic areas, mainly including Bailixia, Qingquanshan, Baicaopan, Yugudong, and Longmen Tianguan. It offers a variety of landscapes such as canyon cliffs, alpine meadows, karst caves, and river scenery, each with its own unique characteristics. It is very pleasant to come here from April to October to enjoy the mountains and waters, explore caves, and go rafting.

One of the recommended scenic spots is Yesanpo Qingquanshan Scenic Area. Due to the Juma River flowing through it, the air is moist, the climate is pleasant, and the content of negative oxygen ions in the atmosphere is high, making it a veritable natural oxygen bar and natural air conditioner. It is also known as the "back garden of Beijing" because of its numerous landscapes, beautiful scenery, rich vegetation, and the precious plants of the original secondary forest still preserved in the canyon.

Yesanpo Qingquanshan Scenic Area covers 13.65 square kilometers of real mountains and waters. The scenic area is dotted with wonders such as stone forests, Shuailong Cave, Baiyun Temple, Shennv Peak, Qinglong Pool, and canyon waterfalls, with a total of one spring, six waterfalls, and seventy-two scenic spots. It also features cultural attractions such as sightseeing elevators, UFO flying saucers, high-altitude infinity pools, cloud glass skywalks, 9D Buddha hand glass platforms, colorful glass rafting, forest canyon cave rafting, dry slides, speedboats, bamboo rafts, water swings, shouting springs, horse riding, and pedal boats. The creative idea of taking water transportation to the forest canyon cave rafting adds a touch of coolness and wild fun. This attraction has become a popular tourist destination around Beijing, suitable for all ages and a great place for summer vacations.

Baicaopan Forest Park is another recommended scenic spot, where you can climb to the alpine meadows to overlook the rolling mountains. Clouds and mist often float among the mountains, and in May, you can also see the famous "Glacier Azalea" landscape.

Yugudong is a 3-kilometer long karst cave, with an open area of about 1.3 kilometers. Inside, there are various peculiar shapes formed by stalactites, which are very beautiful under the lights, making it suitable for friends who enjoy viewing karst formations.

Longmen Tianguan is similar to Bailixia, with many cliffs and unique peaks. Its distinctive features are the cultural corridor and cliff carvings within the scenic area, full of historical relics.

Accommodation and Dining

There are many hotels and guesthouses in Yesanpo Town and near the scenic area. It is recommended to stay in Yesanpo Town, which is nestled by mountains and rivers, and is moderately convenient to all scenic spots. The local farm dishes and river fish are quite famous in this area, as are specialty foods like roasted whole lamb. Prices are generally not too high, so you can give them a try.

The locally recommended accommodation is the Yesanpo Qingquanshan Hotel. This hotel is of high quality but very affordable, with convenient transportation, complete room types and facilities, and a cluster of surrounding restaurants and supermarkets, making it very livable. Most importantly, the hotel is built adjacent to the Yesanpo Qingquanshan Scenic Area, with a straight-line distance of only about 100 meters. You can reach the scenic area in just a few steps from the hotel, avoiding the hardship of traveling in the hot summer and enjoying a cool and pleasant vacation. However, during holidays or peak seasons, hotel room bookings are very popular, so it is recommended to book in advance.

Open all year from 07:00 to 18:30. Opening hours for individual attractions within the scenic area are: Bailixia: 08:00-18:00; Yugudong: 07:30-18:00; Longmen Tianguan: 07:00-17:00; Qingquanshan: 07:00-18:30. Only Qingquanshan is currently operating.

Service Facilities

Water transportation within Qingquanshan Scenic Area: "Multi-person electric bamboo raft" or "speedboat"; Reference price: Free; Address: Entrance of Qingquanshan Scenic Area; Destination: Starting point of Forest Canyon Cave Rafting (only this rafting project requires water transportation; other recreational activities do not).
